Don’t know about you, but I was happy Bob won. Not a standout season, but he was definitely a standup guy. He was great in challenges and had a decent social game.
This was such an odd season. It felt really different from normal Survivor, like more of a fictional TV show than a reality show. You have the Randy, the grumpy old man; Corinne, the mean girl; Matty, the jock; Bob, the professor; Kenny, the gamer; Crystal, the female athelete; Ace, the preppy show off; Susie, the mom figure; Gillian, the grandmother figure; GC, the troubled loner, and it goes on.
I'll clarify the Randy confusion: He confirmed in a AMA in February 2018, that if he had hindsight and knew Bob won in a 4-3-0 vote, he would have voted for Sugar to enforce a tie "to create chaos" (or something along those lines). Mind you, this was three months before Ghost Island had it's finale, so this was before we knew that Sugar would just be a tie breaker in this hypothetical, and would have just voted for Bob to win anyways but in a 4-3-1 instead of 4-3-0. He never said he would vote for Susie.
The 2nd and 3rd vote for Susie are the same, no? Also, probably the cruelest final vote read I can think of with Susie up 3-1 and Bob winning 4-3. You could tell they almost thought it was heading for a blowout.
It is said that if the final 3 had been Crystal, Sugar and Susie, Crystal would've won. But Corinne and Randy would have probably boycotted that Final Tribal since they hated those 3 with so much passion.
Deiner Not Susie? She nearly won this season! And as bad of a player as she was, I kinda wouldn't have minded that. I liked her a lot when I first watched it and didn't like Bob too much so I would have liked to see her pull out the underdog win.
From what I understand, Susie was perceived as a floater. Randy in particular made comments that made the show like "she will go with the wind" and stuff like that, so the jury didn't consider that she was playing hard. But there's a chance that she could've pulled it off considering that Crystal had/has an abrasive personality which made a lot of people dislike her and there's also Sugar, who was HATED by pretty much everyone but Bob. From Randy's AMA: "With a gun to my head I would have given Crystal the money....at least Crystal was trying." Also: "Susie's strategy was to gather firewood". From Corinne's AMA: "I guess Crystal, but honestly Randy and I would have boycotted the tribal". I kinda wish that Crystal/Sugar/Susie would've been the final 3. Just imagine the fireworks...
Bob is such a good winner! I’m so glad he won as an old person. Plus, he was so kind. He sort of never said anything mean, great player and really funny. Great job Bobby!

Just watched this season for the first time... and I’ll be honest, I freaking loved it. Lots of cool eliminations, one of which the most hilarious of all time. Randy was an awesome villain, and so was Ken later on. Lots of betrayal, and I give so much respect to Bob for playing an honorable (and fairly strategic) game. Also, I’m majoring in physics right now, so I might be A TAD biased xD But yeah, this was one of my favorite seasons so far
Probably the craziest season ever, but surely entertaining. I love Bob as a winner, and also think that Sugar was treated unfairly. She actually played a very good game. I wish she would have owned it in the FTC.

Everyone knew Bob's win was a foregone conclusion. Kota was voting in a bloc, with their juvenile triangle logo, and Randy didn't want to vote for Susie.

He is far from being my favorite winner, but, for some strange reason I've always liked this season a lot and I would've never guessed that he was the winner based on the first episodes.

This was the first season of Survivor I had ever seen in my life. I was 14 at the time. The whole way through the season I was cheering for Bob because I knew he had it in him to go all the way to the end. When I realized Bob won I cried because it was the first time in my life I bet all my luck on someone and won! I am so beyond happy for Bob
Yes, Bob good in challenge but between those three based on the way they playing the games I have to give it to Sugar... like crystal said, Bob & Susie just a follower they don't do any great moved, unlike Sugar, she playing a sweet innocent girl but comes up with great strategy and was a mastermind behind few blindsided...

Going into the final tribal I thought Sugar deserved it for how she took control of the game at the end, but she did a horrible job pleading her case. I’m not mad Bob won after that
