She is a wonderful person as well as a phenomenal bass player. We had just missed her performance at the Mayones booth at Namm, but me and my buddy begged her to play. She plugged her bass back in and started messing around. Next thing we know she is really jamming out and a crowd started to gather again! So thank you Mohini for your graciousness in playing again. It was certainly the highlight of our NAMM experience!
I'm a hand drummer and I SO relate to what she said about loving to play in as many genres as possible. I've drummed for rock bands, blues bands, Indian kirtan bands, African marimba bands and for church choirs! I love it all. I love the challenge. It all makes me a better drummer. I only wish I was as good as Mohini when I was her age!
This young lady is not one of the best female bassist around but one of the most talented bassist period regardless of gender. I too discovered her on the internet recently and she could give even Victor Wooten a run for the money! She is a phenomenal player!!
Wow. She is so articulate! I discovered Mohini through youtube not too long ago and was blown away by her prodigious musical talent. It is wonderful to hear her speak about what music means to her. The last few minutes are precious!
Excellent, excellent interview. I too discovered her genius with the Day by Day video and instantly hooked. What a pleasure to hear her speak her passion and gifting.
Mohini has been my favorite bass player since I first saw her on CZcams within the past few years. From watching this interview I can see that she's not only a brilliant and ultra-talented bass player, but she's so incredibly intelligent, friendly, and a joy to listen to when she's talking about music, basses, or just anything. Mohini is so multi-talented, and, in addition to that, she's a really beautiful lady outside and inside! I look forward to hearing all the great music she composes and takes part in recording during her lifetime. :)
She was lucky to have been in the family environment of music, and exposed to all the many facets of music/musicians. The internet has made her known, and her equipment makes her playing sound great. But as many say, she is just a great down-to-earth person whom really has the passion and appreciation for her craft. With many great years ahead of her she will be respected as "legendary" if not now, then without a doubt, at some point.
Her equipment makes her playing sound great ???...bruh..wtf've u been smokin?? ..cheap f*in weed ?!! .. Regardless of the equipment, she's friggin flawlessly awesome.
I like how you said music gives you total "freedom" I agree. I am glad you studied Jaco Pastorious also. And, how you described your bass- how easy it was to play, that it basically plays itself, with extra head room. I endorsed a bass once for Kramer years ago.
What a beautiful human being. I saw her performance at NAMM and was pretty blown away. She's REALLY good! I wasn't blown away by Mayones instruments, personally, but she plays hers quite well.
Absolute Name Mohini ❤ The sound (Moham )Indian means fascinating Yah the Blessing Of Lord Saraswathi, = Mohini ( lord of Wisdon and Art music ) Jai Hind

She's a real Child Prodigy, what else can we say. Blessed

Go Mohini Dey,
You make India proud
Good Luck!!
The world has always appreciated and respected Indian musicians.
Talent has nothing to do with origin. She is just gifted, India or not.
what has she got to do with india? she is gifted. indian or not
@@hitnailhalfway2485 Yes world has known India for Indian/ Carnatic Classical Musicians but not on a modern bass guitar or electric instruments!
@@hitnailhalfway2485 Are you a dimwit without internet? She was born in, believe or not, Mumbay.

love the way she talks about using her gear, awesome.

Badass
Amazing Person and a Bad Ass Musician. I mean “Bad Ass” in the most highest esteem. Love Her ❤
It's amazing what can happen when the good Lord smiles upon and touches someone's life 🤗✝️
Such a gorgeous and talented intelligent woman!
She got it going on.
Rock royalty!
Great. I think all musicians should dip their toes into Indian classical music - either Hindustani or Carnatic. It’s absolutely incredible to study.
My favorite style to play on soprano sax and effects is Indian classical!
What a beautiful human being. I saw her performance at NAMM and was pretty blown away. She's REALLY good! I wasn't blown away by Mayones instruments, personally, but she plays hers quite well.

This young lady can kick ass with that Bass.
