However, I have heard in the news when an earthquake happens saying that the epicentre in located at x metres of deepness, so it seems they misunderstand of epicentre and hypocentere concepts. Don't they?

Hi! Epicenter is always in the surface and hypocenter deep in the crust. Some times they’re mistaken:)
