Please make a video about Aardvarks.
Please make a video about Prairie Dogs.
I think you accidentally referred to them as BOTLENECKS . Oops lol
One of the most unique dolphins species, it’s neat to see how they live and what they eat.
Didn't expect to see you here
@@xen0_lol I didn’t expect to see either of you

Amazon Pink River Dolphins are so criminally underrated compared to their popular marine cousins. Glad you guys made a video about them and mention the myth that they turn into hot dates to seduce women. 🧜♂️🐬
Chicks do dig scars.. so true. Lol
It sounds like something to explain drowning women
Wouldn't be surprised if Boto Encantados attracted some gay men too. (Please note that was joke)
@@anoob6614 It's something to explain out of wedlock pregnancy 😅
I didn't get cheated it was the boto cor de rosa 😂
Sound like mermaids and Sirius
Fun Fact about the Boto!
They've been documented and recorded hunting electric eels by slapping them with their tails, launching the eel out of the water repeatedly until it's edible!
That’s insane .. I love eeet
Must come from the orca side of the family tree
I saw a biologist saying that probably the boto was just trying to survive a encounter with a bunch of electric eel's.
@@mauriliocinema ahhh that makes sense too
Kyogre used tail whip! It was super effective!
Dolphins have some pretty dark secrets...
Oh yeah, nature can be real dark
They have to eat to live.
@@dinosaurpro6592 the other dark secrets, the sexual one 🫥
@@dinosaurpro6592 that's fine but I think he's referring to even more messed up stuff
Definitely……
we used to have river dolphins in Bangladesh called "susuk'' we used to see them from our ferry jumping around but sadly due to pollution they are extinct or near to it that we dont see them anymore sad thing is our next gen kids will never see them most of them will never know about them
It's crazy how each generation sees less and thinks it's normal.
Vulture numbers also decreased 80% in that region over the last generation or so... (30-50yrs if I remember correctly...)
@@dann5480 You probably shouldn't be hunting a species that's already on the brink of extinction.
There's 3500 Ganges river dolphin still alive, and 1000 Indus river dolphin. The Yantze river dolphin have already been extinct.....
SUSuk... 😳
@Krankar Volund
And those numbers may not be enough for the species to survive.
Not enough genetic variation. One deadly pathogen could wipe them out.
The most intriguing part of watching these videos, is the drawings by Danielle up in the corner that slowly reveal each animal she speaks about. Quite the talent with a bit of envy. I'm a painter, not a sketcher. Lol.
I believe I heard/read quite recently that Animal Logic is coming to the big screen. WOW, can't wait to see BIGGER than life animals being brought to such a large screen. Should be awesome, Danielle!
Robert, thank you for your wonderful comment! You heard correctly. Animalogic is releasing a documentary August 1st on BBC Earth (Canada) and is now live on MagellanTV for folks outside of Canada!

It looks like a prehistoric dolphin
They aren't really "Dolphins", only in common name, they are more basal (Primitive) than (Oceanic) true Dolphin Whales, they do share a common ancestor with (Oceanic) true Dolphin Whales, so are most related to (Oceanic) Dolphin Whales, out of the other living Cetaceans, but not that close.
They are more like a prehistoric whales. Their evolution at least. The first whales started their journey as a strange crocodile-type-cows getting into the river and ended up as whales at the ocean.
@@cadelinhawhat ?????
I was born and raised in the Amazon and have fond memories of these underrated animals. It was definitely much easier to spot them a couple of decades ago. Indeed their population has been drastically reduced.
Whereabouts? I just took boat from Belém to Manaus and saw loads of them.
Perhaps not as much as before but I was really surprised at the amount!
@@drts6955 forgot to reply whereabouts - near Porto Velho, Rondônia
I was once met a young woman at party who turned out to be a shapeshifting dolphin.
There must have been some chemistry between us as we really clicked.
In Brazil we call them "Boto cor-de-rosa" which means literally Pink Boto.
OH, I SEE YOU SUMMONED US, BRAZILLIANS, SO HERE I AM.
The legend of the Boto Cor de Rosa is the one i like the most in Brazillian Folklore, its like a Male Mermaid. It's said they dress themselves in white elegant suits with a hat to cover the hole on top of their heads.

I don't know, i almost never watch the news, it's too depressing for me, aliens could be invading right now and i would be clueless.

I love that 💗💗
Animals and mythology and art are my favorite subjects .. and I especially love beliefs about animals and animal deities
if you see a man wearing a hat, check for a blow hole.
There's nothing to be proud of. Your government don't care about the fauna and help to get them destroyed
Isn't that the same river dolphin from that one episode of The Wild Thornberries that shapeshifted in order to lure Debby into the river, and steal her away forever?
Yes, there is a Brazilian legend that they kidnap women
I remember reading about these beautiful dolphins when I was a kid. One of my favourite dolphin species. Thanks for doing an episode on these beautiful creatures.
So sad :(
The botos are extremely intelligence too, there are groups of fisherman's that have "trained" botos to surround a group of fish and them they use a net, give the botos a few fish and everybody is happy
One the biggest challenges for boto protection is poisoning due to pollution and mercury dumped in water to find gold.
They're super vulnerable and Brazil's government does close to nothing to stop it, but people are getting more and more aware of the problem, so there is hope for the amazon's future.
Glad to see that one year later we’ve saw so many news of goldmine rings being dismantled over there
I'd love to see you guys talk about the coqui frog, it's a wonderful unique family found naturally only in Puerto Rico. But it's been introduced to a few other countries
Puerto Rican here, and yeah, I agree, they're wonderful little frogs, the nights of the island wouldn't be the same without them. 🐸🐸🐸
Yes!!
We have been having a coqui infestation in hawaii now for about 10 years
They are some of the loudest frogs in the world producing 90-100 dB at close range.
I agree with you 1000%,very loud and cute little frog 🐸
I visited the Amazon a few years ago and got to swim near them. One village did a sort of dolphin attraction. The locals only feed them for tourists two days a week so that they don't become too dependent on humans for food. Our guide told us the legend about the botos seducing women and that in some versions of the stories the boto wears a stingray as a hat to hide his blow hole.
Hopefully both breeding programs and conservation efforts will help to keep the river Dolphins populations both increasing and staple.
@Bruno Caruso but still every little bit helps and what anyone would tell you one step at a time.
@@brunocaruso6007weak must die to keep nature balanced humans are arrogant
Oh, I love these guys. Who would've thought of a freshwater cetacean?
Can you please talk about the Ganges river dolphin
Curiosity , in Brazil, the locals have a tale about a handsome tall guy , that at nights would go out at events and choose the prettiest woman. Than , he would swiftly go nearby the rivers and proceed to transform himself into a pink dolphin , to them drag the woman into the depths of the river , and eat her .
This is part of the Amazon folclore, and until recently , locals would usually kill pink dolphins on sight , just to make sure no woman got hurt
I live in Brazil, and my grandma was fishing in the araguaia river one day, and when she caught a fish, a boto stole it from her lol
I was in the Amazon just a couple months ago and saw Botos feeding in the wild! It was incredible
I'm 42 and love all types of Animals, I've never seen this species of dolphin and am highly appreciative of the content you guys put out thank you
I saw them in the Amazon. Beautiful animals. They are super protected by law and people there really care for them. The natives say that when one is fishing and they come to the area, they corral the fish so we can get it. I don’t know if that is true or not but as soon as they showed up, the peacock bass started biting and we got several.
Aw, I've been enchanted by these guys since I saw them in a coloring book when I was 8. I bet if they got the Lisa Frank treatment, everyone else would think they were as adorable as marine dolphins, too. Beautiful underwater footage, btw. That dull red glow makes the hunting scenes especially eerie!
Colombian here, we have river dolphins in our small portion of the Amazon river
Most people don’t talk about it but you really are an incredible artist
They are many things. But cute they are not. They look like something the medieval artist would doodle in manuscripts without ever seeing one
Best description!
I hope these beautiful animals are protected 🙏🏼
Beautiful??
Ye beautiful isn’t the word id use…
I’m from Hawaii, I still giggle every time I hear these creatures names. They’re interesting, but Boto refers to something else over here.
🤣
I was looking for this comment lmao
Boto boto sook sook

Spill the beans. This is not fair
After learning about the various horrors (typically young) dolphins commit, I honestly don't know if humans or dolphins scare me more.
I will never forget the first time I saw that video of the dolphin and the dead fish .....
I was only in middle school :(
So sad for your discovery at such a young age 🤧

The river dolphins just show how crazy of a place the Amazon is
If you’re from Hawaii and watching this. This is one of the most hilarious video ever.
I absolutely love Danielle’s artwork. She’s so talented!
Here in Bolivia we call them Bufeos. They are present in lot of tales and myths, usually represented as friends and protectors of people. They are said to help children in danger of drowning or to protect swimmers against alligators.
The legends over here state otherwise
As a brazilian I can say: don't mess with the Botos!
Are they aggressive to humans??
@@fiberpoet6250 Very aggressive!!! They attack you and stole your heart forever!!! 😁
The presenter is so articulate and well spoken. Very professional and enjoyable to listen to.
These are amazing creatures, and not discussed nearly enough. Thank you for covering them, as always, you do great work.🖤🇨🇦
They're beautiful, I'd love to go to Brazil just to see these dolphins and all the other wildlife there. :)
So that they can fuc.......
Hello! did you know you can even swim with them? In fact not tecnically swim, but stay in the water with a group of wild river dolphins.
On special, and restrics, tours some locals (called " Ribeirinhos") have a platform where they invite wild river dolphins to come by to give snacks. And the best is that they do not give enough food to affect their behave, its literally a little amout of food, nothing substantial, but some do come. Complety wild and free, not that Sea World bullshit.
i have visited one of these tour and its amazing. And i just went by because the dolphins have being preserved , and specialists have comproved that its completely fine for them
You're going to Brazil
Yessss come to brazil!!
@Bruno Caruso Spreading fake news huh? Of course you want to blame President Bolsonaro, even tho data shows that under his government, the deforestation in the Amazon is the lowest, specially compared to the communists that preceded him. How sad that people like you feel like you need to resort to spreading misinformation that taunts the reputation of Brazil. I hope you learn to love your country and to protect it from the same socialism that is rapidly destroying the rest of the world, including our neighbors such as Venezuela and Argentina. Brazil stands strong, despite you and the likes of you.
Honestly I love when people talk about the 4 (possibly 3 if the Baji is actually extinct) species of river dolphins!
Netflix has a Brazilian series called _Invisible City_ where one of the characters is a shape-shifting boto.
Sim
I knew about the river dolphins, but just recently I learned there are river sharks. That I never knew and I’m still very fascinated by them.
How about the volcano rabbit (aka teporingo or zacatuche) from central Mexico next? They're so cute :3
Hot cross Bunnies?
Very cute. I’ll add in the pink fairy armadillo for anyone who’s never heard of them. Really cute and super elusive critter.
Here in India we have river dolphins as well, in the Ganga and Yamuna river, but they're slowly going extinct due to pollution, overfishing and hunting for superstitious beliefs, and our government isn't doing much to save them.
Just report them to wwf
What's superstitious belief? Do they believe if you eat this, you will cure from any disease?
Tell me, what superstitious beliefs are threatening Indian river dolphins?
From what I read based on a quick search, beliefs play more of a role in protecting dolphins in north India.
Looks like you are an agitator spreading misinformation. If you are not, prove yourself.
I expect they at least will do something when humans become an engendered species
Yeah man, indians pagans have many superstitions, they kill tigers, river dolphins and every other animals
They’re like the family dollar version of dolphins 😂😂
This was a fun, neat episode!
Speaking of shapeshifters, does anyone remember the episode of The Wild Thornberrys where Eliza meets a mysterious girl in the Amazon and suspects her of being a shapeshifting dolphin in disguise who wears a hat to hide her blowhole?
I remember that part, when they said the way to identify it is that they wear hats and eat fishes, and she's scared that her sister will be taken.
That's what the Brazilian folklore also says! The man is always wearing a hat
Came to the comments to see if anyone would bring up that episode. What an amazing show that was
I want to know what episode is this, if anyone knows please tell me.
Never heard if that and that is freaking creepy!! Got me goosebumps ldjfjfoskqw like imagine pulling that hat off and it's just a hole in their head! 😱😱😱
Anybody else getting the dinosaur vibes from these Dolphins?
Their snouts kind of reminds me of spinosaurids.
Omg I did a report on the physiological differences in cetaceans that helped them survive in their unique habitats. Particularly with the pectorals size+shape, flexibility of the spine, and the hind flippers.
It is so cool to see this again!
Who doesnt Love these beautiful intelligent animal. Im so in ❤❤❤❤with them and when you see them you directly get a smile on your face❤❤❤❤❤
It is neat that you guys seem to be in South America! I just got back from a trip from Peru and got to see quite a bit of the two ‘species’ of river dolphin ( our guide just referred to them as pink -triangular dorsal fin like the one you drew- and grey-smaller with a more crescent shaped dorsal fin- so I am not sure which ones they were of the ones you listed). We swam in the river with them although I don’t know how close we actually got to them because you can’t see anything in that water. They were around and you could see them surface sometimes close by. It was neat to see your footage of them underwater.
When i was in the amazon jungle, the locals told me that i can swim in the river if i see river dolphins nearby. but if they're not present, don't get into the water.
I never went into the water intentionally regardless if there's dolphins or not.
Love to see a video on the American Turkey Vulture. They're pretty amazing animals, especially if you can get footage of a huge group of them circling. Keep up the great work!
Been watching Animalogic since I was much younger. My favorite part has always been the drawing!
These critters literally haunt my nightmares and I have eerie vision's of having to swing through a freshwater body of water and get messes up by these guys... The murky water helps to the eerie aspect too...
That’s actually a really interesting nightmare (sounds like a scary experience from a subjective standpoint though). I used to have nightmares of being surgically operated on by humanoid pigs with lights while still being awake, and then being chased down dark hallways as I tried to escape the operation.
I still remember that one 4chan story about a diver finding a river dolphin in a underwater cave and was killing anything that moves for fun. That was a nice fictional story.
I always wondered why their pink. Now I know thanks to you :) Great work please keep educating us :)
i saw , the last season of Captain Planet . I love the cute pink dolphins.
Love you Animal logic! Keep up the great work
Face of an angel indeed, they are one of my favourite cetaceans! Thank you all for making this episode for them
I love these marine mammals and seeing them here was a pleasure and I hope to see more like it
I've always been fascinated by these creatures. To me they are beautiful.
That shot of the the River and Ocean separated by a thing strip of land in between them was soo cool man
I have an idea for all of the folkloric sea creature-human shapeshifters now. I desperately want to see a story where they meet and interact. Or at least explore the similarities and differences between them.
I think it would be nice to see a follow-up episode on their cousins that live in the estuaries on the coast I've never heard of that one before have a great day wonderful artwork again
Thanks for the new informational and educational video!
At least this species of the dolphins are NOT as naughty as their cousins. AHEM *looks at porpoises intensely*
I wonder how regular dolphins and Amazon Pink River Dolphins would react if they could swim next to each other. Would they be friendly or enemy?
Both are normal dolphins tho
They would fight and the winner would r*pe the loser.
Fun language fact: the "NH" in portuguese words is pronounced the same as the "Ñ" from spanish, so "pee-RAN-na" is not quite it, is more like "pee-RAN-ña" :)

Botos are amazing! I remember seeing a bunch of them hopping on the river when i took a boat trip. 😆
A fun fact about the boto myth is that even though it can shape-shift it will always have a hole on the top of its head, so when in human form "he" usually wears a hat and won't let anyone touch it.
Such an odd bizarre gentle creatures while we're terrified by stories of piranhas & great white sharks & they're been eaten by these gentle adorable creatures I luv orcas which is literally a dolphin & preyed on sharks & relatively dophin species brilliantly fascinating wildlife filming & documentary thank you 😘💡👌🎥
These Pink Goblins are anything but gentle lol
I havent found dolphins cute since I found out that they are basically ocean's bullies with a tendency for necrophilia.
I still find them cute despite being assholes.. they are animals, we can’t really assign human thought processes to them
@@fiberpoet6250Agreed, not to mention people over exaggerate the fudge out of what they "supposedly," do to other animals and each other. Pains me how people don't really do their own research before misrepresenting other creatures.

Based on fossil relatives, could they thrive well in Florida's Everglades?
I feel like some type of hypothetical animal experiment might occur to see if it's possible.
Might devastate native species…
Florida has enough of that going on!
Hmm i don't know if you want that. They are pretty smart.
They even follow fishers around if they get easy meal from the baits. (They somehow learn to get them from hooks without getting hooked.)
They mess up fishers just for the fun of it.
