Is it too big? No absolutely not I look at it simply the tender is exactly what you guy need to fulfill the embodiment of the channel. This will allow you the opportunity to do things that a normal dinghy would not allow. You can pull tubes, skiers and all types of fishing and even explore island water ways with confidence. I am an avid boat enthusiasts and have restored many boats and love watching and even learning alot of great new techniques from you guys.
When i work (computer job) i listen to something while i work. And somehow, about 25 minutes in when Ty is working in this tight space, his voice reminded me about Keith from deadliest catch. Maybe it was the eco in the plastic but it just popped up in my head 😂
Hello again! Great meeting you today as well and thanks for watching and subscribing ;-) stay tuned in the coming weeks you’re going to be CZcams famous lol 😂
Since a lot of the sailing life is at anchor, this “boat” will serve you well for supplies, people/dog mover and fun diving/spear fishing days! Enjoy!!
Agree with you. So many others have to constantly struggle with boarding, passing groceries, water, fuel, and other heavy loads - this larger boat is very smart.
I hope the company that shipped you the boat compensated you for the damage and the work it took to repair the boat. If the shipping package wasn't damaged they must of shipped this boat knowing it was damaged ,I hope they make it right .
That nut you put on the steering air from the steering cable is available with a grease zert installed in the nut. It really helps to keep the steering cable greased and keeps the salt water out of the cable. I've used them on my 24 foot jet sled on the ocean and rivers and I've never had a problem since installing the nut with the grease zert. Before installing the nut I was replacing the steering cables every 4 to 5 years because of corrosion from salt water getting in the cables. Those steering cables aren't cheap and they are a pain in the rear to replace.
I thought maybe 40-50 hp. What an amazing addition to the adventure. You can anchor in a secluded cove and still go shopping 50 miles away. You can island hop in your "dinghy" for the day.
The great dinghy video. You are going to be running a very sweet rig there my friend. I like the catamaran dinghies too; fast, more efficient, and better seakeeping in waves, but they are heavier and quite a bit bigger too.
"Fancy dancy superific awesome bottom mapping transducer thingamajigger" Raymarine is truly great at naming their tech, so I can see why you bought it!
I would have gone with the (100 lbs. lighter) Yamaha 70. A hydraulic jack plate for running in the shallows would be a nice add on. Enjoy your boats!!!
Even though I'd love to swap the RV life for boating. I'm sure there are lots of similarities , I've learned that All the planning in the world doesn't assure it will be simple!!! Love your channel and all you do!
Great attitude to damage on dinghy ! Not sure if I could have handled it as well , I know from experience, the guy driving the truck USUALLY gets the blame in these cases . I must learn to be as diplomatic when the next mess happens in these situations ! WHAT REALLY BUGS ME is no one takes responsibility for these mess ups !
In the first 4 months with my new AB, I've gotten pvc primer, cresote, and other misc marks on my dinghy. Love my boat, but the dinghy is a car, truck, tow vessel, tugboat, and barge.
Use a PFF50216 filter/separator. Order a kit with the water sensor that screws into the bottom. It is a 2 micron filter with a water separating membrane, so you get 2 for 1.
Your single "tender" has better specs than the combined specs of BOTH the boats I use to get to an Island I go to in the summers! I am, as my kids say, "Jelly!!" It's been a blast watching the four of you bring that beautiful boat back to life!
I can't help but notice you got a Highfield like Colin and water maker like Colin's. However Colin didn't use the Tesla battery system that you designed. However great minds do think alike. Looks great 👍.
No Davit. It has a transom/swim platform that raises & lowers. That platform is rated for about 660lbs & that dingy weighs about 730lbs & that motor weighs about 350lbs (so almost 1,100 lbs) so he might need to install bigger motors & reinforce the hinges on the platform (& trade out those nylon straps for something much stronger).
I can't wait to see how you cram that thing on the back of the leopard... I feel like it's about a meter and a bit longer than what actually fits there, lol
We have a 3.9m tiny with a 30hp on it and all the other live aboards in our little group are upgrading tenders, it's nothing for us to run out to 1 of the islands for a day trip in the "tender" if we only have 1 day of good weather
Now that you have completed your union of Pearl and her “mom”, will you still have the name of the mothership Dauntless, or is that to be revealed on a soon to be aired future episode ?
The Dinghy Is In The Water...YAY! While this actually happened earlier this year, it's enlightening to see what it took to get you there. I thought you said something about making the scratch repairs, but that part is a little fuzzy. How long did that take and what all did you have to do to make it seaworthy? Glad that you got it as far as you did and hopefully you were able to get it either attached with a tow line or installed behind the big boat.
Ok, 15 feet, what's the distance between your hulls? Is all. that weight on the back going to put your sugar scoop steps underwater? The real question is, how did you know you could handle the weight and size?
Wow that is a big dinghy. I bet you could fit everyone else's dinghy in that dinghy! No I have dinghy envy. They say bigger is better but how big does big have to be to experience it as better?
Just got one of these in December but with a 70 Yamaha. Was surprised when I went to fill up the first time that the fuel tank only holds 11 gallons (48.4 liters) after being told it was a 14 gallon tank (which was still a bit on the low end for a tender this size) when I was shopping. Are you planning to carry extra fuel jugs?
Well duh! You needed a big dingy to go with the big catamaran! A little dingy on that big boat would look wrong. Besides, you can ski behind THAT dingy, beat storms back to the boat, carry bikes, lot of groceries & beer, and get away or get somewhere fast. Great choice, although I am still upset over the dings in the dingy.
That is one fast and beautiful tender but I think it is too big for your cat. I sure hope it fits between the hulls but more important, you are also putting in half a ton of weight at the back of your cat whenever you are stowing it onboard. Aside from making sure the swim platform can handle the weight, I hope you guys get to chat with Leopard and get their advice because the last thing you want is to hoist that dinghy up and capsize your cat.
No worries, I was glad to help you by lending my trailer! 😃
Great people that help others what a guy ~ Rob

A 90 hp dinghy! My God that's awesome.
Super Fine Ride guys..... My car is green with envy!
OMG 😱 WOW ‼️ That's one hell of a dinghy ‼️‼️‼️ ✨ 🌊 💨 ⛵️ 🏝 👙 🌞 🍷 ✨
Shout out to Rob for loaning the trailer! That's what this is all about. Friends made. You guys rock!

Was a pleasure to meet you guys on the boarding! enjoying the content
Hello again! Great meeting you today as well and thanks for watching and subscribing ;-) stay tuned in the coming weeks you’re going to be CZcams famous lol 😂
love your annexe
Somebody owes you a new dinghy! That is one fast dinghy!
👍☑️ Every week it's more and better content and progress. Tks
AWESOME welldone crew
Im so glad you guys are back in FL and in warmer climes!
Setting up the Little boat looks like a new form of tocher
Since a lot of the sailing life is at anchor, this “boat” will serve you well for supplies, people/dog mover and fun diving/spear fishing days! Enjoy!!
Agree with you. So many others have to constantly struggle with boarding, passing groceries, water, fuel, and other heavy loads - this larger boat is very smart.
I’m here for the dad jokes heheheh nice little dingy ! 🍻🍻🤘
I like the dates on the video's keep up the great work!
Awesome job y’all. I can’t wait to see Keith’s face after y’all race dinghies with S/V Zatara 🤣
I hope the company that shipped you the boat compensated you for the damage and the work it took to repair the boat. If the shipping package wasn't damaged they must of shipped this boat knowing it was damaged ,I hope they make it right .
Money is a renewable resource and time is not. So you absolutely made the correct choice. Bon voyage.
I’m so happy for you guys! What an incredible “journey” to the seas!!
Nice install job on that ray marine, Ty!!

Hope you got a hughe compensation from the supplier.
That is a beast
So cool, you guys look like you have a great time together
Awesome dingy 👌
The great dinghy video. You are going to be running a very sweet rig there my friend. I like the catamaran dinghies too; fast, more efficient, and better seakeeping in waves, but they are heavier and quite a bit bigger too.
Nice , I can see why you upgraded it, you didn’t mention that now you will have a boat that can possibly tow the big one into if needed!!
Your going to have to race zatara’s dingy now💪🏼💪🏼
"Fancy dancy superific awesome bottom mapping transducer thingamajigger" Raymarine is truly great at naming their tech, so I can see why you bought it!
That vlog was so amazing 👏 😍 So jealous.
Lots of love from across the waves Tenerife Canary Islands 🇮🇨 🏝 ❤ 😍
Wow that was a Swine to set up but Man that's a Nice add to your Boat Loved the Vlog thank you
I would have gone with the (100 lbs. lighter) Yamaha 70. A hydraulic jack plate for running in the shallows would be a nice add on. Enjoy your boats!!!
You did it, well family 😉👍✌️, greetings guys from Habana Cuba 🇨🇺🙌🤪❤️

Said She, NEVER😱🤣🤣🤣🇦🇺🤟🏼
Go job Ty. It sucks when your project is out of reach and your head doesn’t fit. “Ty-Rex”! LOL
Great attitude to damage on dinghy ! Not sure if I could have handled it as well , I know from experience, the guy driving the truck USUALLY gets the blame in these cases . Awesome!!! But how is the mother ship doing??? Already can’t wait until next week for your video!!!
Use a PFF50216 filter/separator. Order a kit with the water sensor that screws into the bottom. It is a 2 micron filter with a water separating membrane, so you get 2 for 1.
A ship sails in the ocean and a boat is carried by a ship.
Looks like forklift damage prior to shipping? Looks like you will need a heavy duty davit system for the dingy.
The have a hydraulic swim platform that is also a dingy storage platform while underway. It’s awesome.
First pictures for next year's calendar.....
Your single "tender" has better specs than the combined specs of BOTH the boats I use to get to an Island I go to in the summers! I am, as my kids say, "Jelly!!"

Looks great 👍.
Bigger is better 💪🏻😎💪🏻 I fitted a similar filter but it had a hand Primer on it 🤭
Tye,peaking of beer 30,no one will do a beer run faster than Pearl!lots of dead fish too
What is the total weight and does the Leopard 50 support that weight or did you have to reinforce the davit area?
Thanks !
You guys are awesome! Congrats!
Killer dingy 🚀
super cool greet from holland.
When Kim was under the seat I had the phone face down lol and it sounds like what someone would say during sex I was laughing so hard
Put a tracking device so that when the dinghy is "borrowed" you will know how to find it.
Wear your kill switch always!!!. 😲
Love the "boat" terminology you guys use. Just fun and no pretence.
What is it about you guys with scratched bottom boats 🚤❤️😂🤣😂
Hello to all from Siesta Key Florida
36 mph 12 inches above the surface, water, ground is flying fast.
Have fun be safe.
from now on you reference that as a Donghy. ;-)
Giggle, giggle, giggle. 🤭
great dingy, thats why we have a bigger boat so we can carry a good size dingy, my 14 footer is good but your 15 is better, jealous ...
You can put a dingy on a boat and a boat on a ship. But not the other way around.Well maybe you can but only once.
I can't wait to see how you cram that thing on the back of the leopard... I feel like it's about a meter and a bit longer than what actually fits there, lol
Nice dinghy!
Google - sea leg boat, that would have suited you perfect
More of a Launch than a dingy!
We have a 3.9m tiny with a 30hp on it and all the other live aboards in our little group are upgrading tenders, it's nothing for us to run out to 1 of the islands for a day trip in the "tender" if we only have 1 day of good weather
that is going to be a nice boat
That would be called a tender rather than a dingey. She's nice.
Now that you have completed your union of Pearl and her “mom”, will you still have the name of the mothership Dauntless, or is that to be revealed on a soon to be aired future episode ?
Difference between a Dinghy and a Boat, is that Boats submerge beneath the surface of the water.
The Dinghy Is In The Water...YAY! While this actually happened earlier this year, it's enlightening to see what it took to get you there. I thought you said something about making the scratch repairs, but that part is a little fuzzy. How long did that take and what all did you have to do to make it seaworthy? When ya got a 50' cat, you really need to be able to move more people from deeper mooring waters.
So, are you officially rid of that boat yard now?
note to self... have Highfield rig my dinghy
Highfield will make it right!
Ok, 15 feet, what's the distance between your hulls? Is all. that weight on the back going to put your sugar scoop steps underwater? The real question is, how did you know you could handle the weight and size?
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Hawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!
"You look ridiculous with that big dinghy" said no one ever.
27:04 yes it is a boat, not an dingy.
Wow that is a big dinghy. I bet you could fit everyone else's dinghy in that dinghy! No I have dinghy envy. They say bigger is better but how big does big have to be to experience it as better?
With a Monster Boat, you need a Monster dingy. Champagne anyone?
Just got one of these in December but with a 70 Yamaha. Was surprised when I went to fill up the first time that the fuel tank only holds 11 gallons (48.4 liters) after being told it was a 14 gallon tank (which was still a bit on the low end for a tender this size) when I was shopping. "is it too big?" asks no one ever.
Very nice BOAT.
Dinghy looks like one Zatara uses, can by a ski boat too.
@5:55 : "Does my bum look big in this?"
Eehhmm, like the title says. 🤭
👍👍👍👍👍
I want to put some dead fish is the baby ! 😄
You would be amazed if you got a stainless steel prop how much better your performance would be.
Now who will waterski behind the beast first?
Boo Hoo Sally.. Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels iirc
Dinghy requirement is 10% value of the vessel ? :-D
So did you ask Sydney to have I go or still to soon for tight spaces
I know I am late for this party but . . . why not a diesel outboard to avoid having to store a third fuel (after diesel and propane) on your 50?
They are rare and 5-8x the cost…. Can’t afford a 60k outboard😔
A five minute boat job is still a five minute job but in boat years. (like dog years)
