- In this episode, we welcome Raymond Ibrahim to the show. He is an author, translator, columnist, and vocal critic of the religion of Islam. He is an expert in Islamic history and doctrine. He was born in the US to Coptic immigrants from Egypt and is fluent in English and Arabic. He did his master’s thesis under Victor Davis Hanson (now at the Hoover Institution). He has written multiple books including Crucified Again: Exposing Islam’s New War on Christians, Sword and Scimitar: Fourteen Centuries of War Between Islam and the West, and his newest book Defenders of the West: The Christian Heroes Who Stood Against Islam. In this interview, we discuss what it was like growing up with exposure to both the English and Arabic languages, why he decided to be a publicly critical voice against Islam, how Westerners have been lulled to sleep when it comes to the threat of Islamic ideology, how Christian pacifism has no corollary to Quran-based Islam, why people no longer view Christianity as a “muscular religion”, why he spent so much time detailing the courageous and important deeds of Christian military men throughout the entire militaristic existence of Islam, why the persecution and murder of Christians by Muslims all over the world is being ignored, and much more. Yall missed my favorite Lionheart moment. When his and the forces of Salhaddin were facing off and neither one was making the first move Richard rode out by himself in front of the muslim army then when no one on the muslim side came out to accept the challenge he rode by himself across the whole muslim line and still no one accepted his challenge. Insane.
Malik Rik SCARED them boys! He was a bogeyman in Muslim folklore for CENTURIES afterward.
Read both his Sword & Scimitar along with Defenders of the west. Brilliant stuff. Easy read and the pacing was smooth. Cant wait for his next book.

Extremely important conversation. This work must get much more traction in public discussion. Watching from England where we currently have riots and clashes between Muslims and white British. It’s here.
Defenders of the West is such good book. The last 3 chapters are my favorite: Hunyadi, Skangerbeg & Vlad the Impaler.
As I was going through the book I was just so aggravated at how much of what I have learned has been so wildly distorted or outright lies about.

I know that I am getting really tired of the ignorance, and quite often I think it is about them being fearful, of islam - the true islam instead of the utter crap of it (eg: it is peaceful, I know a peaceful one, etc) when the teachings are NOT peaceful!
So I really want to READ this book but everywhere I've looked it's "Out of stock or Out of Print". That is with checking Amazon as well. Has anyone else been able to find it for sale in physical form? I really don't want the ebook on Audible.

And Spaniards forgot how much pain islam brought to their land because now they opened their land to those who are hating them
Along with Defenders I subsequently got God's Battalions by Rodney Stark PhD. I'm gonna put a couple quotes here regarding some of the falsities I learned.
"Hence, rather than the Mediterranean becoming a Muslim lake, the truth is that the eastern Mediterranean was a Byzantine lake, the Byzantine navy having become 'the most efficient and highly trained that the world had ever seen, patrolling the coasts, policing the high seas and attacking the Saracen raiding parties whenever and wherever they might be found.' It is true that the Muslims were able to sustain some invasions by sea in the wpestern Mediterranean in the eighth and ninth centuries, far from the Byzantine naval bases, but by the tenth century they were driven to shelter by Western fleets as well as those of a renewed Byzantium.
"Muslim naval weakness should always have been obvious. For one thing, the Muslims quickly realized that they must withdraw their fleets from open harbors, where they risked destruction from surprise attacks. Thus, for example, Carthage was abandoned, and the fleet stationed there was moved inland to Tunis and a canal dug to provide access to the sea." (53)
"...contrary to Pirenne's thesis, Muslim sea barriers to trade could not have caused Europe to enter the 'Dark Ages,' because the 'Dark Ages' never took place." (54)
