The bags that the pumps pump water into is hard connected to the subfloor ballast. By filling the subfloor (roughly 20-30 seconds to fill) then you close the subfloor valves then fill the bags on top. If you were to start filling the bags before the subfloor, the water would just drain into the subfloor ballast and not fill the bags completely. Most MB owners do it in that sequence because it’s the fastest. You’re “wasting” pump time by starting pumps early when the gates will just fill subfloor very quickly.
Couldn’t you open the 2 main gates and turn on all 3 pumps at the same time to fill everything instead of doing it in different stages?
