The 2005 Atlantic Hurricane Season can be argued as the worst one to ever occur. Over $120 billion in damages occurred across the basin, doubling the record of $60 billion that was set the previous year. The season featured some of the most recognizable storms such as Katrina and Wilma.

2005, by far one of the craziest and freakiest hurricane seasons yet, causing $203B in damage (2024 USD if i'm correct)
the season had mutiple memoriable storms, such as Dennis, Katrina, Rita, and Wilma, which all had impactful effects during this, which caused the latter (even Stan) to be retired in favor for new names 6 years later
Normally a thumbnail with that many Cat 5’s is a “The Thumbnail 💀” but no that is a actual season
Honestly, the only hurricane I really care for seeing (at least for 2005) is Dennis, even though I do sometimes find Rita interesting.
Meanwhile, Katrina and Wilma can just piss off from my sight.

Also yes, 10L and Katrina were not the same storm, but they were from the same tropical wave.
for some reason i thought it was Maria in 2017 with around 3.6k deaths
deadliest atlantic hurricane in the 20th century was Mitch only 7 years earlier which likely caused about 18000 deaths
Thought stan killed about as many as Katrina

Wilma was the 3rd most intense storm in the Atlantic basin in my opinion, only hurricane Gilbert and the 1932 Camagüey hurricane are stronger.
