Wow, it's been a while since I uploaded! But I have been so so so so so so sooooooooooo busy! Not only have I finally moved into my apartment but I have been hosting friends, getting a hellishly busy job with too many lecturers emailing me, an really hard social (BUT WONDERFUL) social life to balance, but also a show to perform this week!
Haha, not only that but I've had no computer. It's had it's entire harddrive need to be changed up. So I was lucky enough to use Jitter's laptop to record and thankfully upload this. I can't use his laptop too often but it will do for the time being.
So I hope you enjoy the Distortionist. I saw a lot of you requested it on my request list, so hopefully it has not disappointed.
Also, question again about the patreon, what sort of rewards would you like for it? I'd love some suggestions

I love how dramatic your voice is. It’s not bad your voice is almost OVERdramatic in this one because it almost suits the character, trying to get people feel sorry for him. I like this!
That's the vibe I was going for :) I thought by playing him overly dramatic then that could emphasise the untrustworthy nature of his character, as well as how biased he was. I'm glad you liked it :)
Yeah, it shows the side of the character that the vocaloid lacks, because, well, for obvious reasons.
I love your ghost covers. Ghost's songs are amazing with interesting stories, but you put emotions into the song that vocaloid always seem to lack. (Not only that, I love your voice)

Just a quick note to add.
I am quite aware that my GHOST covers seem to spark quite a bit of commentary of my voice and the musical genres it suits. A few of you have noted that I would suit musical songs, ballads, operas and that sort of thing.
I cover songs based on what interests me and what I feel passionate about. Right now, I'm just not interested in covering a musicalesque sounding song. I want gritty, dark songs with interesting tempos and well developed characters.
I cannot perform music that I do not feel passionate about. Nor do I want to limit myself to one music genre. I want to try out as many as I can. This is why my CZcams life is dedicated to vocaloid whilst my life off the internet is dedicated to operetta.
Feel free to comment and talk about this with me. I would be more than happy to discuss. I just feel that if i dont do the music im passionate about then I just couldn't stick to a project.

Rachiedian Glad you noticed.. and yeah.. your voice is.. way too high, and it'd work more for some happy-ish-Er songs.. hell. If you wanna cover one of ghosts songs, appetite of a people pleaser is a good one that might work. ( no bias to me wanting more covers of that. owo )

Turtle worshiper I noticed but i dont necessarily agree. Everything I do is based on what i enjoy about the song.
This song was very low for me and it was incredibly difficult to produce. However, I just dont really want to do "happy" soprano songs. To be honest, I like doing songs that make me happy rather than doing it based on im expected to do as a singer. If i can't do songs that make me happy then what's the point of producing songs at all?
I am intrigued by appetite of a people pleaser. But I'm not sure. I'm looking back at some of Steampianists work and i think I will cover one of those next. Either that or go to a classic vocaloid.
That and in general im feeling a bit off about singing. I have a bit to think about and I'm not sure how to approach it.

You know, speaking of darker songs, I'd love to see you cover some stuff by Dio like Holy Diver or Stargazer or by Queen like The Show Must Go On or Killer Queen or Made in Heaven, because good heck do those songs not get enough covers , and I think they'd be interesting for your voice.
Also, I wonder if changing the properties on the BGM, like speeding up/slowing down or pitching up/pitching down them, might work. IDK if that'd work as a "faithful" cover, but I do think it might suit your voice better, and I think that's more important for a good cover.
I will admit, some of your Ghost songs sound... off to me, but when your voice is good, it's really really good. Thomas Johnson no thanks. I dont really any intentions of covering those of songs or slowing down the melodies. I appreciate the suggestion, but it just doesn't interest me.
I repeat, what's the point in singing vocaloid on CZcams if i can't sing the songs i love? If I'm not passionate about it, Then i just can't upload it.

Rachiedian Tch your voice is beautiful. It doesn't need accurate pitch to be enjoyable to listen to. I actually like the quirkiness and the almost hysterical sound to it. It suits this song just fine. Now this is _perfection_

Do you mind if I give some constructive criticism? I promise I'm not trying to be mean when I say this, this is just something I've noticed across a lot of your covers ... your focus on emoting can interfere with your ability to hit certain notes sometimes. Take 'none other than poor me' at 1:26 and 'changes my mind' at 2:33 for example. It sounds like you're more focused on sounding distraught than carrying the tune. And believe me I get it, balancing acting and singing is a very difficult feat to pull off, but it's not like you're doing a stage performance where you're forced to do everything in one go. There's no shame in re-dubbing certain notes or segments that fall flat on the initial take, or splicing two takes together. It's a bit more time-consuming to do it this way, but it pays off if you can make a good cover even better. Again, I promise I'm not saying any of this out of malice. You do have a lot of talent, and I'm hoping I'll be able to watch you grow and evolve and improve with every new cover you put out. :-)

I can tell you that I do redub things quite a bit because a lot of the time I'm not satisfied with my first take. You're right about the emoting. I focus on it to the extent where it can interfere with the singing, or I just dont notice the flats. I will see if I can find a balance- as that has been my aim since my singing channel became a 'thing.'
But yes, I do take things in takes and redub things quite a lot. I'm a bunny whose never truly happy with her work. :)

I like this cover a lot but sometimes I feel like your voice goes too high, but I could be a bit biased because I sing ghost songs with my chest voice and sometimes slightly deeper than it's supposed to be.

This is v e r y overly dramatic but I weirdly like it? It makes it a lot of fun. Although I understand why people are saying it's bad cause I was also sorta disgusted at first before I listened a few more times. Definitely put singing over acting in the future and maybe turn down the drama just a tiny bit (although i personally like it)
