honestly, a Pokemon action RPG with real time battles (preferably with Tales-like combat) is my dream game. I’m hoping that a Legends game or a spinoff would do this one day
I've never played the Tales series. What's a good one to start off with?
@@MunchingOrange There are a LOT of Tales games (many of which are only in Japan), so I would personally pick Tales of Vesperia since it’s first Tales game I played or Tales of Arise since it’s the most recent addition.
The Tales of Series is really fun, the characters are generally really charming, and the combat can be addictive once you get the hang of it. You should definitely give it a try one day.
Also I’ll just warn you now that the games tend to be really long and contain a LOT of easily missable side quests that you would need a guide for, just to let you know(speaking from experience).
@@MunchingOrange They can be played in any order, but you may get callbacks to previous titles. Vesperia as mentioned is a great title, Tales of Arise was their 25th aniv release which is very enjoyable as well. Then they just released a remaster of tales of symphonia a gamecube title. But there isn't really a bad choice. Personally Arise, and Vesperia are my 2 favorites

Fun fact: when the game asks you for a catch phrase, if you type a region like sinnoh or kalos for example, you can choose the starters from that region.
Also if you press T and say “without objects” the gym leaders won’t use items
I don’t think they’ll do this for mainline but as a spin-off , it would have been perfect if Pokemon make spin-off titles again and not just mobile

In double battles you gotta use the switch button I think to switch between your two active Pokemon.
The strat would be to use one Pokemon consuming PP and while it's on cooldown you use the other active Pokemon, then you keep switching back and forward

@@tpsam you cant spam items mid battle theres a set limit of how many healing or anitdote items you can use across ur whole team theres even a set limit of how many switch outs you can do

I would love to see Pokémon have real time battles it would make the battle system more dynamic and strategic as you are actively involved in the battles. Hopefully a new Pokémon Legends game or Gen 10 will try out a real time battle system.
I mean I think this kind of thing would work for a legends game. If this was in a main line game it would screw up the entire competitive system.

I get what you mean but Pokken is a fighting game. There's no exploration or any of the other mechanics that make it a Pokemon game

Ok this game seems cool, my only issue is the 2d grid not locking, meaning yourself and trainers can be halfway between tiles and it just feels wrong

I'll be honest, as intriguing of an idea this would probably end up being I think I might be that rare breed of people that would quit playing mainline Pokémon games if they decide to ditch the turn based RPG elements as the main means of combat. The designs of the characters & Pokémon could end up being total bangers, the story of the game could be brilliant but the battle system could make or break it for me.
I don't think they will ever abandon turn based for the main series but they did slightly switch it up in Legends so it would be interesting to see it in a spin-off like that

There's actually a limit to how many times you can switch pokémon and use items, which also applies to NPCs. It may not matter in the early game, but in later battles when the AI gets smarter it's easy to run out. Also in double-battles, your second pokémon doesn't attack. You have to press S to switch control.

The only thing that would make this game better and more accurate to the anime would be if you could CATCH A FAINTED POKEMON. WHICH MAKES ABSOLUTE PERFECT SENSE. WHY IS THIS NOT A THING YET?????
You technically can, the Pokémon can faint while the pokeball is sended. They still can escape it tho.

It would be much harder, but also better too if Pokémon had real-time battles that would be awesome! I've been thinking Pokémon tried something like that with Legends Arceus where you can move your character at the same time in the battle and in Scarlet and Violet where is the auto battles and you can play as your Pokémon in the game too so I want to believe Pokémon real-time battles are in Pokémon games in the future hopefully in Legends ZA in the next year 2025 just like in this freaking AMAZING looking new Fanmade Pokémon Reloaded game what I really want to try out too, it's really interesting you can play even Ash Ketchum or Gerry Ash's first and best rival and hope you made the playthrough about this awesome game! Pokémon real-time battles: it's been 3000 years of waiting! 💀❤️🔥
I'm sure we already have pokemon games though not main series that feature real time battles e.g. pokken, pokemon go & pokemon masters EX 🤣 I think legends arecus's battle system is the closest we have to real time battles

Do u play on Windows 8? Btw tve music sometimes bugs a bit due to how clunky the Engine plays midi music. You can use F10 to disable/enable sound.

The starter you find in route 2 depends on the questions at the start of the game, for example the fakemon Ornigrim is rain+creativity. Totodile is rain+simplicity.

I tried playing but the control settings are cancer. I tried changing them, but they got mixed up. For some reason, even when I spent 15 min trying to set the main button to C, it set it to W...
I had a hard time with the controls at first too but after setting everything up with JoyToKey and Xbox controller it was much better
Press 0 and set the controls. How did it got mixed tho?

@@PasOdMater oh I see, what I did noticed is that when You change the controls in the General menú, like the main "confirm" button it automatically changes it in the rest of the other areas if not asigned yet. Because you can't change a contol if it is already asigned to another key in the same área. So what I recommend is changing the rest of the controls and making sure they're changed correctly. If it tells there is already a key asigned, then assign that key to somewhere like the numpad as a placeholder.
@@PasOdMater in other words, assign keys that confict with what you want to assign into the numpad to free them.
Since nothing is assigned to the numpad by default it won't conflict with anything.
*sigh* There is a real time Pokemon battle thing. It's called Pokken Tournament.
Fighting games are a totally different genre. We're talking RPG with real time
Umm does this game support controller on PC?
It doesn't have support by itself due to the engine it is made on so you will need a program like JoytoKey for it. However the Game is designed to be fully playable with a Controller. Just remember even when using the stick you will only be able to move and attack in 8 directions.

*Lots of people saying this game is insanely unbalanced and heavily struggling on the first Gym*
Munch usign the most basic pokemon knowledge and balancing his level training:
"Yo! I can use as many items as I want. Yo! Look how I sweep them!" *Beates Gym on second try without problem*
Btw you can only use 6 items per battle, is how this game is balanced. You beated the gym before he used one lol. Also try to use S key in double battles. The more you get used to it, the better!
It was actually like my 6th try on the Gym Leader, but the first time learning how to use items 😅

He also got pretty lucky with the platypus that spot rando into any starter i got cyndaquill, had to beat it with just crawbraler n machop + support of ghastly hypnosis and beedrill twin neddle
