  • Unreal Engine 5 is much faster than Blender. Yet water simulation is not as good as in Blender if set properly. UE5 is difficult to start and it has very different mindset behind the engine. This scene contains around 2400 frames and it is rendered in about 11 minutes on RTX4090. Compare that with hours for the same job in Blender. I wanted just to show you that it is possible for anyone to learn and start to mess with UE5. Note that UE5.1 is very different and many things are optimized, but in the same time changed.

Is this ray traced or is it using another renderer?

Honestly, I am not sure. There is some setting for raytracing, but I am avoiding this because it is new to me. Now, graphics card is lightning fast, but my old PC is not so fast (Intel i5, 4 core).

@@MilanKarakas Yeah, when I first started messing with Blender I dived head first into it and everything was so confusing. But like a year ago when I picked it up again I started with the basic stuff then I improved a lot.

Yes, either way one should constantly working on some examples and repeat learning until things become more familiar. I am not giving up of Blender, Just need something more... maybe stupid idea to make some game, but I know that this is very difficult. Will see...
