Awesome! I was thinking about doing this. Nothing seems to make something stick in my memory more than building it. I figured I would build the palace in minecraft or some voxel game and then put what I needed in there, mentally.
After reading about memory palaces for a while and thinking about all the different designs that I could choose (real world or imaginary), I finally came to the realisation that I can recall almost the entire layout of my MineCraft creations from memory - with very little effort. This is definitely going to be one of the main techniques that I will be using for memorisation in the future. I'm surprised however that this idea seems not to have garnered much attention on CZcams or other websites.
Thanks! Another nice thing about designing your memory palace in Minecraft is that if you need to expand it, all you have to do is walk through it a few times to recommit it to memory.
Yeah, it works quite well actually. It's nice because I don't have a lot of real places committed to memory and therefore only a few memory palaces. But with Minecraft I can make as many as I need.
I've been playing around with themed rooms. An art room, pool room, bedroom etc. I haven't had a lot of time lately to work on my palaces though, so I haven't done a whole lot more yet. When I get to working on them again I'll record some more videos.
hello, i download sims 3 for this purpose but it´s not good at all for this... i wonder what kind of images do you use in minecraft ? i mean there are a lot of repetition of the images to be used a loci image..
Your memory Palace is so MONOTONOUS. No variety at first.
Even after 11 years, this video is effective in what it tries to portray. I wonder what you associate with each item/object of each room.

Glad you liked it! I haven't worked on my Minecraft palaces in a while. I need to get on that again, they were quite useful.
You crossed your path never do that follow a route don't go to the same place twice
Thanks for the tip! I'll keep that in mind for the future.

I'm not sure what you mean? Do you LP as in "let's play"? What do you use them for?

I mostly use LPs
Cool...
I was thinking about using THE SIMS. It seems that there's a MOD for first person view.
Minecraft graphics seem too simple to use details.
