      Definitely a lot going on if you want to look for it. Most people just see the fish and kill but the whole dive is the big picture

      I was mixed on this dive to leave them for a tournament or take them. Was the first time diving with him and didn’t know if he had shot a carbo so decided to go after them. It doesn’t take much to convince me anyway. I’m definitely not leaving unless I know for sure how you dive and handle yourself. Deep stuff I like to come up together unless we get separated on the bottom.

    Nice shot placement right there. Always wanted to do some deep dives for carbos. Those look like one bad shot placement away from a really bent shaft! Are you diving a low % nitrox or just air? I thought I misheard the video when you said 1500psi, but now I see you had a deco bottle. Great dive

    • @jasonbihari
      @jasonbihari  Před 2 lety +1

      Yep they will definitely bend some shafts. The one last weekend bent two of them. I did do this dive with 1500 in my main tank but I did have a pony bottle for a Deco. The other guy did not have a pony on him for this dive and that was mostly what I was worried about. I knew how much air I had but I wasn’t sure how good he was so I knew we had to get back out relatively soon.

    Diving is cool, but it is not on the same sport level as surface fishing. JMHO

    • @jasonbihari
      @jasonbihari  Před 2 lety

      Depends on how you look at it. I know it looks easy but we spent a lot of time and effort to get to this level. In fact it takes a different kind to do the dives we do to kill trophies. Earlier that day we had a large mako approach us on the way up. Don’t think many Fishermen would be getting in the water to do what we do especially after that.

      @@jasonbihari oh my. That’s very frightening, so fast, and benign. The video makes it look like a very casual, easy going activity... wow.
      It did make me think about, I mean it crossed my mind in one of your other videos that simple tasks performed, in difficult situations that if somethings going to go wrong it will. The simplest tasks, can be a challenge.
      I hunted In the sub Article in January, with a very experienced, very serious men. The temperature was -48c.
      With very high winds, you might last 30 minutes in the open ( regardless of what gear you had on).
      An example of a simple task being difficult. Getting a rifle magazine out of your pocket, and putting it in the rifle, then closing bolt and chambering a round would be exhausting. Your finger tip would freeze from being on the trigger for 15 seconds.
      Thank you for commenting, it all makes sense... I know that living life involves risks, so be careful and live it !
      Terrific vids, and your grouper from the holes showed amazing skill. I think spear fishing could be the future if done properly and controlled. No by catch, selective harvest and you can monitor species abundance.

    • @jasonbihari
      @jasonbihari  Před rokem +1

      You get used to it but can definitely see it in a few of my videos. The worst three times I’ve had it I didn’t have a camera on but you can still see it in some other videos. I know what to look for and what I need to do to get out of it if needed.

      @@jasonbihari when you are diving with an attached airLine are there the same risks with the blood gas, and all that ?
      I noticed on that you were closely watching your time, when doing the Grouper dive, which you had an attached line.
      Also I’ve wondered why the free divers don’t have an inflatable air vest for emergencies. Cut off the weight belt, pull the rip cord and you’re going to the surface. Not great but better than getting dragged deep by a shark, tuna, Goliath?
      Are there automated alarm systems for divers, like a you have to respond to the prompt or the alarm goes off ?
      I’m just curious if there’s been any safety advancements in the past 50 years.
