Driving Downtown - Orlando Florida USA - Season 1 Episode 11.
    Starting Point: Orange Avenue goo.gl/maps/RWCQgmBG6G12
Orlando is a city in the U.S. state of Florida, and the county seat of Orange County. Located in Central Florida, it is the center of the Orlando metropolitan area, which had a population of 2,134,411 at the 2010 census, making it the 26th largest metropolitan area in the United States, the sixth largest metropolitan area in the Southern United States, and the third largest metropolitan area in the state of Florida. In 2010, Orlando had a city-proper population of 238,300, making it the 77th largest city in the United States, the fifth largest city in Florida, and the state's largest inland city.
The City of Orlando is nicknamed "The City Beautiful" and its symbol is the fountain at Lake Eola. Orlando is also known as "The Theme Park Capital of the World" and in 2014 its tourist attractions and events drew more than 62 million visitors.[10] The Orlando International Airport (MCO) is the thirteenth busiest airport in the United States and the 29th busiest in the world.[11] Buddy Dyer is Orlando's mayor.
As the most visited American city in 2009,[12] Orlando's famous attractions form the backbone of its tourism industry: Walt Disney World Resort, located approximately 21 miles (34 km) southwest of Downtown Orlando in Lake Buena Vista, opened by the Walt Disney Company in 1971; the Universal Orlando Resort, opened in 1999 as a major expansion of Universal Studios Florida; SeaWorld; Gatorland; and Wet 'n Wild. With the exception of Walt Disney World, most major attractions are located along International Drive. The city is also one of the busiest American cities for conferences and conventions.
Like other major cities in the Sun Belt, Orlando grew rapidly during the 1980s and into the first decade of the 21st century. Orlando is home to the University of Central Florida, which is the second-largest university campus in the United States in terms of enrollment as of 2012. In 2010, Orlando was listed as a "Gamma−" level of world-city in the World Cities Study Group’s inventory.[13] Orlando ranks as the fourth most popular American city based on where people want to live according to a 2009 Pew Research Center study.[14]

You need to do most of this same drive at night & just before the traffic blocks go up in the heart of downtown its amazing how alive & crawling with people it is. Another nice long straight drive in Orlando is along International Drive not far from Universal Studios, never a dull moment in the City Beautiful

Orlando's economic engine are the attractions, but the cities heart and soul is outside of the attractions. The people that live in Orlando (many of which are people that work at the attractions) like the fact that [outside the airport and the attractions area] the city itself resembles more of a regular city like Jacksonville and Tampa.
Although Orlando is the #1 tourism destination in the country and has one of the biggest universities in the country, in many places it still very much has that back-woods southern feel and the people that live here love that.

Blue Diamond haha funny you say that because I lived in San Diego for a few months and came back to Florida I'm about an hour and a half south of Orlando on the East Coast and about an hour and a half north of Miami ...Orlando ,Miami,tampa,lauderdale.. Florida in general is very diverse has all kinds of Hispanic Mexican and Salvadorian Puerto Rican Cuban Dominican we have a lot of Canadians a lot of northeastern's Florida is very laid-back in a sense but the people here compared to the the people California is almost the same except for the whole liberal thing but most people are laid back here it's a hit or miss and yes Florida has the most dangerous cities on the top 100 dangerous cities in America we have 11 here in Florida alone that's more than any other state

Blue Diamond I’ve lived in Orlando most of my life. And I’ve never really experienced racism at all. There’s plenty of Mexicans here. I’m Puerto Rican and Dominican myself and live in west Orlando. You may get a few stares every now and then. But Orlando is one of the most peaceful cities there are. I’ve been to Kissimmee a lot, and that’s where most of the Hispanic people live. It’s pretty relaxed over there. I’m happy with where I live although it tends to be more expensive in Orlando due to all of the tourists. But yeah, there’s beautiful people here lol, you’ve got the Brazilians, Colombians, Venezuelans, pretty much all of South America has plenty of people that live here.

I understand about the airport being nearby but you can still make it work. I recommend everyone to see J Utah Belluvue video to see what I mean.

contrary to the belief of many, you don't need to drive faster or add music to your videos. These are a perfect resource and an alternative to the choppy street view driving experience for virtual tourism. I am doing a large tour of Florida cities for a photobook i am working on and am glad i was able to pull landmark notes from here beforehand. THANK YOU J UTAH!!

Don't people get bored of watching an hour of just driving regularly? Also, I feel like you might here more mutterings from the driver if you can hear the audio. I can see why people might like the regular speed of driving however. It is easier to look around and get a feel for what you're looking at, whereas sometimes when the driving is too fast, you miss out on the details. What about red lights? Do you like those or would you want those edited out?

I enjoyed the drive around dntn Orlando, but if you ever go back, please drive by Lake Eola, or preferably, around it. That is a real landmark for people who grew up in that area, especially those of us who were there before Disney. I'm just a little bummed that I watched for 30+ minutes, and all the times you were almost there, or could easily have gone there, you turned, even when it was just to retrace your steps! Grrrrr-r-r-r-r, but in general, it was good.

That's not true friend, it just depends on where you are in the USA. Older cities, like in the Northeast or Midwest, tend to have stronger pedestrian cultures within a dense urban environment. Good examples are Jersey City, Cincinatti, Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, Baltimore, D.C etc. Orlando on the other hand, like a lot of cities in the Southeast, is a new city---only been around for about 50 years. Orlando grew when cars were already around so it has a very spread out nature.
