Norman seemed to have a special affinity for the late Baroque and Classical periods music. I saw her as Alceste in Chicago and she was superb, although she had to perform in one of the stupidest stagings I have ever seen in 50 years of operagoing.
Thank you for uploading this. The previous version had the sound cut off partway. I don't know why this performance was never released commercially. Jessye is magnificent in it. And the cast also has Jose van Dam and John Aler.
