I really appreciate how in your videos, you point out when you get good/bad luck, and when the opponent gets good/bad luck, in addition to identifying good/bad play from both players as well.
I took a good 10 year break from Magic before coming back to it (about 2 years ago). It's been really nice learning the modern details from CGB. He often gives that little extra bit of explanation for why he does a thing.
40:00 I don't usually condone ridiculing someone that's mana screwed, but the emote spam and roping made it more acceptable.
Countering their mana source and reducing their card draw by one really did them in.
Which proves it was the optimal play. Sometimes being evil is the best way to be :)

I usually despise anything to do with Teferi, Hero of Dominaria, but because this Commander is in hell queue, I don't mind watching you make other sweaties be miserable. XD

I've been seeing the walls between queues breaking down quite a bit. Which is fine, I like punching above my weight class 1 in 10 games
I'm sad that my golos gates deck with none of the gates good stuff (literally just guildgates and plazas) with some M20 goodstuff is in hell queue... It's so janky and having to go up against every teferi in existence is painful. I just auto concede at mully lol
I’ve never experienced he’ll queue. I built the uncommon kiora earlier today, and all I got matched up against were kinnans and Esikas and teferis. I never knew historic brawl was so powerful
Ill tell you right now I prefer A LOT hell queue to other tiers because so far my matchups are many, I even got paired against tasha. Whereas, f whener I play decks such as Jodah (Archmage) or Evelyn, I meet Urza, and its like, I appreciate the commander and the decks, but OH fuck I played against at least 15 guys like you in 2 days! OUT OF 15 GAMES

Love the hell queue domination, but wonder why my casual non optimized (aka non crafted)midrange haktos and zur builds match like 80% against these commanders, kinnan, teferi, uro, all super common, and super optimized combo decks too, like oswald, jhoira, etc... my decklists are C tier so i dont get wizards matchmaking algo in historic, standard queue seems way more balanced. That Said, would be very curious to see a CGB build of Zur in brawl.

Yeah, I do run an Azorius control deck in Brawl, but I prefer 4 mana Dovin as my commander because of hell queue.

Wonderful stuff!!! Control is the only way to play imo.......my only wish is that when playing paper mtg all those years ago I wish players would scoop as quick as Arena players do. The 45m time limit per match was always tough playing control.

Counterspells are kind of nerfed in Brawl, because people can play their commander over and over again. So you need to have counterspells combined with card draw, and a way to finish the game. That's why I think the 2 mana Spells cots 1 less guy isn't a very good commander. It's mostly counterspells which runs into issues.
Baral isn't just counterspells. Well, almost. But he also makes other spells cheaper, and that includes a lot of good card draw too. And he also provides card selection. In the end, it's the full package that makes it so annoying

Mate, how the fuck do you make a new deck every day? It takes me like 2 weeks just to muster the will to start building, then I'll get half-way through before I give up, play a couple games, and then take another 2 weeks to muster the will to finish the deck.

I may be the minority, but board wipes and counters are just exhausting to watch, it feels like a deck that just wins by stopping the other guy from having fun. Love the content but i prefer when CGB doesn't go blue

Thing that annoys me since I started playing magic in 2012, starting with LEGACY! Is the anger from none skilled players vs skilled players. Even videos games are like this. None skill players never take the time to get good, but play a game that has players that practice getting better. At the end of the day, call of duty, magic even UNO have a common thing! WIN! Winning is fun, and for those that don't think so are usually handed wins to keep them playing. Have had many locals at FNM get mad quit because they kept losing. Like grow up.
I play Tef 80% of the time in brawl for years and i'm so tired to play against big manas & combos decks like golos, esika, kinaan, jodah and sythis all the time... I HATE arena tiers for brawl ...
Am I the only one who thinks patriarch’s humiliation shouldn’t be legal in brawl? Like I don’t mind an enchantment that takes abilities away but just never being able to utilize your commander for the entire game because the opponent played a 1 white mana spell seems kind of dumb.
The humiliation can be cleared from the commander by sending it back to the command zone. When it goes you'll be given the option to clear persistent effects

This guy on 38:00 is such a typical salty mtg player. You already going in with an annoying commander and then you get annoyed by what happens to you? I really don’t get these people, just scoop and fight another day where you get more lucky again
To be honest, I fell it's a shame that decks like this are on the top of the Hell Queue. It really remove a lot of fun for new players in this amazing format.
I mean hell queue is what it is because they’re the most competitive, best decks of the format. You just need to play better decks if you want to play there. 🤷♂️
Are you crazy dude? New players definitely don't play against the best cause most probably they don't have the collection to make a great deck.
@@yavivanov6650 it depends on how you define new players. One week in HB? Definitely new, one month? Still new, but you can have a decent deck and be paired against those decks from time to time.
