      That's one of the most stupid quotes that can be said. It usually means the one saying it does not studied history and only learned through movies like this one (that was anything but accurate, it was like seeing a Vietnam bad flick with nazis on it) and/or Call of Duty. Most important historical moments has been decided in long, very long and very boring to read conferences about politics or religion (sometimes both). It has laws, treaties, economy, art, philosophy, teachings and studies. The rise of the modern economy, the mercantile treaties over seas of Holand, Barcelona and Venice, commerce leagues like Hansa...
      Revolts, revolutions and wars are not the main focus on history. At all. History is not violent. it just is.

      @Warhero1171 Před 5 lety +332

      More like it's famous for triggering alt-right neo-Nazis who don't seem to realize that the krauts were really not that impressive.
      They got their asses kicked on every front. And their overrated tanks got decimated by much cheaper Russian tanks.
      The idea that the Nazis and the Germans as a whole were super advanced and well trained compared to everyone else is utterly false. They simply were stupid enough to waste money on technology that failed to have any strategic effect, and wasted their time building slow, massive tanks that ran out of fuel and broke down.
      The only reason they were initially good is because they had spent years preparing for war while no one else had. But when everyone else got their shit together, the krauts revived an ass kicking. They failed miserably during the Battle of Britain despite having better planes.
      Nazi Germany is the epitome of stupidity.

      That was the point in the film where i was unable to give its missteps a pass. It was just so absurd how a group of elite German troops just kept trying to push a tank from the front when they had all terrain flexibility to flank it from both sides after its initial surprise volley went off.
      Its one thing is this was some crazy over the top action film that didn't take itself seriously, but considering how the film seemed to be constantly putting in a effort to be more serious and gritty that whole part just felt out of place and ridiculous.
      Honestly scenes like that in generally serious films annoy me because undermined the point of a last stand if your enemies are so dumb its a miracle they aren't tripping over their own feet every other step how can you really feel like odds are stacked?

    @haroldbenton979 Před 4 lety +7

    For all those ripping the historical accuracy of the Tiger combat and then the SS batt battle you all need to remember this about the movie. Fury is set in April of 45 near the end of the War in Europe. By this time the Russians had surrounded Berlin and most German units had next to ZERO ammo left left alone getting resupplied. Single tank on tank combat did occur in Europe near the end of the war in the area where the US Army was attacking normally it was units of German armor that had been cut off when they were bypassed and trying to get back to their lines. Also the majority of the Panzerfausts where ordered to Berlin in an effort to hold the city at all costs. Along with all armor anti tank guns most of the regular army units and pretty much anything that they could scrape up went to Berlin before it was surrounded. Now as to how one tank could hold off a Battalion of SS troops. The MG42 can only pen 1 inch of armor the M4E8 has over 40MM or over 1 inch at its weakest point on the hull. So shooting machine guns at it would do next to nothing to really hurt the tank the Germans did not really have a good Anti armor gun that was issued to the infantry like the M2 we did. Next the blown shot in the city beyond a 45 degree angle a tank stands any tank stands a good chance of bouncing the shot. Why do you think we do not use HEAT rounds in our M1A2 tanks instead going for APDS are not angle driven and are harder to ricochet. Lastly while the Fury tank and crew itself was fiction all 7 of the battles where based off of REAL WW2 interactions that happened with M4 Sherman tanks and German troops and or tanks during the War. That's right everything here was based off of official US War Debriefings taken from the troops that fought the battles.

It can be easy explained that the supply of regular ammunition was low (due to bad supply lines) so that both sides had to overuse their tracers. PLUS YOU GOT AN AUDIENCE THAT GREW UP WITH STAR WARS AS THE LOVE OF THEIR LIVES. Big difference here is that both enemies (Allies and Axis) can shoot without missing unlike STAR WARS. It shows that the war is fucked up and you're going to see atrocities no matter which side you're on. On the other hand, this movie was notorious amongst historians for its many inacuraccies in portraying tank-to-tank combat during WW2.

    the tiger ambush scene is always irritating for a couple of reasons... 1. to stop a convoy you first target the lead vehicle then the back and box them in. the tiger doesnt do this and at this point of the war german tank commanders would be very experienced that said fury wouldve been the tank targeted first. 2. fury was a 105mm m4 Sherman, this meant it was realistically the biggest threat to the tiger compared to the other 3 75mm shermans in the scene giving it more reason to be targeted 1st. 3. the tiger had no reason to leave its concealed position and close the distance, the shermans didnt know where it was, it had the drop on them, and the commander would know this, plus fury the only real threat to the tiger would be the first tank destroyed realistically in this scenario, the tiger would out range the remaining 75 mm shermans and destroy them without them even knowing what hit them.

    I think the counter forgot 2 kills 1 being the girl in the red dress when they where in town which CLEARLY died also. The counter only got the blue dressed one that Norman went to at the collapsed building (required to watch movie to understand my meaning), and the other one being when wardaddy threw his ak47 at the Nazi climbing the tank near the end witch clearly killed him due to the sound of a head being crushed. Just my Theory, if wrong reply.

      Dragongamer 5257 the gun he threw was the STG44. This was used later for the design of the ak47.
