Spinal cord injury paraplegic exercises and walking skills

  • History: she had spinal anesthesia during LSCS, after 7 months got infection at the site. Progressed to LBA suddenly she got loss of sensation and movement below umbilicus on January 5th 2020. Admitted hospital diagnosed and treated for transverse myelitis with paraplegia. After four months sensory and leg movement got improved, on indwelling catheter. She was admitted for rehabilitation.
    Diagnosis: T8 spastic paraperesis (ASIA-C)
    Prognosis:
    Walking with walker and KAFO (without knee lock) approximately 80m/30mins, Sitting to standing Independent. With AFO knee getting hyperextension and knee pain. So advised to use KAFO plan is to reduce it later. Upper and lower limb with 2 kg resisted exercises, ankle passive, trunk strengthening exercises. Home program advised.
