Vessel is an incredible singer, absolutely unique and hypnotic. That drummer is next level. Christ. The two of them combined is just insane.
You can hear Vessel's English accent in his vocals which I think is interesting because a lot of artists try to avoid that.

Not that they avoid it they just lose it when hitting octaves. It is rare a singer keeps their accents when singing.

This is one reaction video i truly enjoyed. The way you jammed with your piano after a few listen is the kind of reaction i love to see.
I really enjoyed the vamp outlining a bm7 chord that continues through the entire track just building the tension. Then the drop comes in and it goes away for 8 measures only to come back in but with the octave instead of the 7th. It just adds that extra excitement to the end of the track track. Not to mention the pumping/driving shape and rhythm the vamp has that just really locks you into the track. Really well done.
I think as a long time fan of theirs I start to realize more and more why people are taking a liking to sleep token and that's because it breaks from the norm within the contemporary styles and genres/subgenres and brings in what Jazz did for music many decades ago. It brings a twist and a break in between that doesn't bore you with predictable choruses and rhythms that are all too overused in a lot of pop music these days. Those breaks in the music and twists in notes are what reel you in just like how Jazz does. It just sounds amazing to the ear and you feel it more. At least for me and some folks I've spoken and have expressed what they liked about them. It makes sense seeing the lead singer is also a very Jazzy sort of dude if you ever got a chance to see his personal channel before Sleep Token popped off the way they have now. I won't share his info on that but it was a happy coincidence for me and I'm more than happy to see him and the band succeed. But yes he is also a Jazzy dude outside of Sleep Token so it makes a lot of sense lol.
This is exactly it! They break genres in a new exciting way, but Vessel is also an incredible lyricist with a unique voice. I've listened back a few albums and you can hear how hes grown. His voice is one of a kind and hes a phenomenal song writer
For a while Granite was my favorite track from the new album, but the more I listened to it Chokehold became my favorite. Both great tracks
Sleep token sold out their upcoming north American tour in a day. I tried so hard to get tickets the second they went on sale but failed. Good for them, sucks for me 😅.
4 minutes for the show I wanted to go to. Instantly on resale for $500. Those bots are disgraceful.
Lots of scalpers bought them out. No doubt they would have sold out without that happening, but really does suck for the actual fans :/

It's funny that you said it just sounds like "a couple of dudes" because that's literally what Sleep Token is in studio. It's Vessel and II. That's it. III and IV are only touring musicians, though it's undeniable how much they add to the live show.
