I'm single but shop joyously in Costco, LOL. Today I found a package of pot roast (2 pieces) for $19. I'm not a big meat eater, but every once in awhile I just want some chicken or beef. It was a good deal. In a few minutes I will divide this meat up into 2-meal portions, vacuum seal and pop 3 in the freezer. I plan to put the 4th piece in the crockpot with onions, potatoes and carrots for my Sunday dinner.

I was in tears at the end of the video. What an inspiration your family is to us. I don't feel safe living in this country anymore (at least the lower part) and I would love to work towards moving to Alaska where it seems safer. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and journey with us.

I lost my mom in 2000 and I teared up before you on you mom blessing you. Those random blessings are so missed and picking up the phone and hearing her at the other end. They make a huge impact on our whole life's we just never get over it. I am probably older than your mom LOL and have lived the country lifestyle always. I learned to cook from my mom and Home Economics in HS so have always homecooked. I've never not had a working pantry and when covid and the TX snowstorm hit us I chose not to leave my house for over 4 months and did not even need to. I believe Jessica at Three Rivers is such a blessing for younger women with the months in the winter where she does not go to the store and then the month where she puts something up every day. Once it's a learned habit you'll never panic if you can't get to a store. My parents met in Anchorage and my sis was born there. Thanks for sharing your little part of the world!

I have been stocking up on paper products this month and on rice and beans. Buying 25lb bags and vacuum sealing as much as possible and putting the bags in buckets and containers. I really need more water but that will be done before the snow flies! i just started following you and will need to go back to follow this challenge. I am one of the people who will bulk shop and not shop for months, well except for produce and dairy. I am even getting back to baking breads and treats for fun. I do not want my family to be lacking this winter and do not want to have to spend nearly everything we have just to eat. If we remain diligent and faithful to the plan, (YES THERE IS A PLAN) we will make it and be fine. We even bless another family on our block when we need to step up. I am happy for you and your household. You stay blessed and continue to be an inspiration to the rest of us!💖

The little bit extra I get to stock up on each time I go to the store makes me so happy. There is so much peace knowing that we will be able to feed our family of 8 even if things get more crazy. Yesterday I canned 4 quarts of chicken and 3 quarts of pinto beans. We were really able to intentionally stop eating out last fall when I started canning. Having the quick and easy meals for us has been a game changer. I can put dinner on the table in 5 minutes if need arises. Love it!

I went to groc store today.. didn't really need groc but went for a small haul of mostly digital coupons and checked out on sale stuff. I just scan isles for red stickers and ck digital coupons because they are significant savings. I shop totally different from how I used to shop. I now concentrate on sales.. and cook and make meals from those items instead of deciding on meals and just buying those ingredients.. since that's too expensive now.

I am stocking up for my husband & myself, my disabled son and his family of 3 and my father in law. Today, I stocked up on laundry detergent, beans, baby wipes and toilet tissue for my son, daughter-in-law and precious granddaughter.

You seriously made me emotional. I try my best for my family. I was remembering today the time I went to the food bank 4 little babies on my hip and hand Aaron was working 60-80 hour weeks and we just weren’t making it. That week it was food or gas but we could afford both. I went through the shelves I didn’t read a single ingredient, I didn’t ask where the hamburger came from. I didn’t look at how much sugar was in the peanut butter. I took what would get us through and nothing more cried the whole time. I did the best I could that day. I saw it break my husbands spirit. So when other are like “only organic crass feed butter for $17.99 it makes me cringe. Sure when that day comes I also like the best of the best. But right now I need to fill a pantry in short order that most take YEARS todo. So you are alright around here if all you do is the best you can! Thank you! It’s good emotions snd lots of Thank you Jesus that I’m not there. But thank you even more for supplying for me when I was.

My mom and I cook in bulk and split a lot of things. So here is our BBQ recipe that we absolutely love ❤️
    1 Lg Onion - grinded
    Garlic 12 - grinded
    Roaster pan:
    - let onion and garlic dry out in big pan on med/high heat for 10ish minutes with a lid... turn down to medium heat and cook for 10 more minutes without lid.
    3 big Katchup
    2 sm A1 Sauce
    2 cups Brown sugar
    1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
    Salt
    Pepper
    Liquid smoke
    Lawery salt
    Stirring frequently
(Adjust ingredients to your liking if need be)

I buy the number 10 cans of fruit & vegetables in the spring & summer. In the winter when I’m not overloaded I start canning them. I add all kinds of things. I turn corn into a relish. Some of the green beans get pickled. The carrots get spiced. It’s nice to have a grab & go meal in the pantry. I also pull out my dried beans & start canning those. Makes quick work for a meal. Add fresh made bread or cornbread.

Can you save money and buy the air vent cord for the air sucker out of the jars???? That is a really good price but I would try a hose cord first and take the hose with me to the Home Depot type place and size the air hose with a new one to save you money and not buy a new jar air space saver. Or whatever they’re called.

Great haul and great that you continue to get attachments that help you prep and stock your pantry and freezer. The only thing you seem to be missing is a Harvest Right Freeze Dryer. I have one and absolutely love it. I run it almost everyday. It has truly made it so much easier for my food preps and storage. Hopefully one day you will be able to get one. Good job on your every bit challenge.
