  • In this video I give you my review of the Grundens Deck Boss boots, the Xtratuf boots, and the fishing boots from HiSea. These boat boots are great fishing boots for anyone working in wet conditions. Xtratuf boots have been around for a while and are very popular. Grundens has been known for their rainwear for decades as the premier maker of foul weather fishing gear, and Grundens boots are no different when it comest to quality. Hisea is a relatively new brand, but they make an affordable options in fishing and boat boots. All of these low cut rubber boots are great for anyone working in the wet conditions on a fishing boat or around the house. Waterproof rubber boots are the best boot for keeping your feet dry 100% of the time.

I live in the P.N.W and I have xtra's an Grund's. I even had a pair of Mucks. I endorse the Xtra's but being made in China I would think they would be cheaper. I also wear Croc Off Courts and in the summer they are my go to around the water. Thanks for your vid on this topic.

    Hey Dieter
Just wanted to give some positive feedback and let you know I bought a set of never lost anchors. I bought their ropes too. All in bright orange. They’re great! Really like ‘em and have tested them in some tough spots and still was able to pull them in. Our home lake is Bull Shoals. Appreciate your videos.

I’ve only heard of Grundens and mostly the waders and wading boots

I like the styling and availability of the Xtra Tuf but I can't find any to fit my 4E wide feet. I understand the Grunden is cut a bit wider but can't find them locally to try on.

Finding any of these to try on is always a pain....

Most of the reviews for Frogg Toggs deck boots suggest they run very large. Might work with your 4E width?

@ hitekrednek120 - update, I bought a pair of Frogg Toggs on sale from Tractor Supply ($62.99 + tax). I normally wear a sz 13 4E in tennis shoes (New Balance, Under Armor, etc.). Based on the reviews I bought sz 12. They fit well both length and width. Enough room if I had to put on thick socks on a cold day it wouldn’t sacrifice comfort.

What’s the popular opinion of wearing or not wearing socks with Xtratuff boots? In the summer do they get Xtra stinky from feet sweating?

    • @DieterMelhorn
      @DieterMelhorn  Před 10 měsíci +1

I wear socks with them....low cut ankle socks

Wearing rubber boots in a boat creates safety risks. If you fall into the water a couple of things could happen.
If you fall headfirst, they could hold air causing your feet to float impeding your ability to hold your head above water.
If they fill with water they will create extra weight on your feet while trying to climb back into the boat.
Because of the suction they create on your feet when filled with water, removing them while attempting to climb back onto the boat is significantly harder.
These are real safety risks. Ultimately, it’s up to the individual to decide which risks are greater, issues associated with cold wet feet or drowning hazards. Of course, lower tops will hold less water or air reducing the hazards.
    Stay safe out there guys.

I wonder if that's why they make these things called Life Preservers/Vest, PFD's , hmm? 🤔

How so? I've never own their low cut boots, but had a pair of the calf high boots. They lasted about six years before they needed to be repaired from the sole separating.
