So glad this bird hasn't been destroyed by someone changing the engines to turboprops. Nothing on aircraft beats the sound of those growling piston engines. A DC-3 can virtually fly and land anywhere and take off again as they need very little runway to get back in the air.
The music really sounds sweet at 9:05 when it lifts off into the air.

Last time I flew in one of these work horse's was in 1977. The Papua New Guinea defence force had 4 of these still flying. I was working as a contractor for the defence force. Every flight was an adventure you never knew who else would be on the aircraft with you. The worst one was travelling with 2 boar's who were being taken to the pig farm. After 6 hours the smell was something else!!!!!.
C 47 esse avião é um tanque de guerra era fantástico.

My dad flew c47 bag n baggage in WWII in SkyTrain over Burma.
I don't know if other refer an airplane as a "she", but definitely I will call DC-3/C-47 as "he", because he definitely looks so handsome

Very little is known or said about C-47's and their role in the Vietnam War. Maybe...some day...that role will be discussed.
