Carl and Pearl Butler Don't Let Me Cross Over Lyrics
Don't let me cross over
Love's cheating line
I'm tempted, my darling
To steal you away
Don't let me cross over
Stay out of my way
You know that I love you
And I'm not the stealing kind
But I'm faced with heartaches
At love's cheating line
Don't let me cross over
Love's cheating line
You belong to another
And could never be mine
I know one step closer
Would be Heaven divine
Don't let me cross over
Love's cheating line
I tried to forget you
But what else can I do
When your eyes keep saying
That you love me too
I know if I lose you
Not a dream will I…

Played this at a neighborhood party....3 weeks after a neighbor admitted to cheating on her husband the same month as their 20th wedding anniversary... Look on her face was priceless. Something like this 😳
What a Duo!!! The best of many❤
From second fiddle to a steel guitar, lots of country greats
I can remember hearing my Daddy sing this song when I was a kid while he was getting all dressed up to go out jooking...This was back in the day when country music meant something...I always loved to hear Carl and Pearl Butler sing they were a great husband and wife duo!
This is country music, not what it's called today.
My favorite man and wife duo. Love this song since it was released.
Like country music
Nice ever green
I fell in love with this song the 1st time I heard it.❤

Great music
I can't figure those folks clapping, but this is great!
They look like they are clapping to a totally different song.
Love this song good old days music it is so true
Thanks. I haven't heard this one in years
This was one of my father's favorite groups (along with Rose Maddox - definitely a okie /Bakersfield sound). He didn't get to play their albums as much (since mom didn't care for their songs- she was more Porter Wagner & one's like him) but I respect all varieties of old style country music (don't get me started on the JUNK they call country music today 🤢🤬🤮)
Awesome!
great
The woman on the left side of the screen with the long black hair mother wrote this song.
Is the man in the red Suit Bill Phillips? I meet him in 1962 in a High School Parking Lot. Also meet him in Western North Carolina School in early 198-s.
10th
Thanks. I haven't heard this one in years
