I honestly see Barbatos as a parental figure/guardian to all those living in Mond. They let their people rule themselves and make their own decisions, however they remain there for when things go wrong (e.g. the situation with Dvalin or the Lawrence clan). Barbatos wants their people to experience life for themselves without having to worry about the potential of oppression, and wants for them to create their own legacies (something that seems to be important to them based off the impact of their friendships with the nameless bard and Vanessa). They aren't unwilling to step in and give someone a nudge when needed if it means that they will learn more about themselves or prior legacies connected to them. If they don't want their influence as a god to affect those they interact with in Mond, it makes sense that they would take a "humble" form like Venti that seems unassuming on the surface. It allows for them to continue what they're doing/helping people uninterrupted (sorry this might be a bit too much rambling don't mind me).
Honestly I still didn't see the whole video but thank you, finally someone who bothers to understand Venti character instead of calling him a lazy alcoholic Archon that didn't bother to help his nation. They literally introduced us to him helping Mondstadt and Dvalin as soon as the game started, also he most definetely blessed the Traveler journey (Everytime something dangerous happen someone with a Anemo vision in the Archon Quest save the Traveler more than any other character with a different vision), he's one of the most mysterious characters along with Zhongli and he's most likely going to be really important in the future especially because he's the first Archon we met. He knows everything about past, present and future. The entrance to Celestia is in Mondstadt right where the statue of Venti is located (as the inscriptions say). He's obviously lying about his strenght and as of right now he's actually the strongest Archon. Zhongli is considered dead, so no one pray for him anymore plus he gave up his Gnosis. Raiden Shogun is what people pray for but the puppet isn't Ei, so the power gained by the prayers doesn't reach Ei because they aren't praying for her and they still don't know she exist, plus she also gave up her Gnosis. Nahida for now is the weakest because she lack a Gnosis and people still don't fully believe in her (her appearance equals her strenght, kid appearance = Weak, adult appearance = full strenght) and now that they do because they believe she's the original Archon she will eventually grow stronger however Venti is still the strongest because people still believe in him even if he's never seen, they know he's still protecting Mondstadt and he gives them proofs that he's still there and he's protecting them/Mondstadt even if they don't see him. The upside down statue of Venti too and the fact that everytime something important to the Lore happens most of the time it's Venti pushing it forward/when those weird things happen you are always with Venti or somewhere where Venti told you to do. You are in a call with Venti? Suddenly you speak with Nahida. Venti tells you to visit the witches location in the air? You discover the identity of the voice you heard at the end of Sumeru Archon Quest (not to mention all the things that happened in the past) Everytime something important happens you are either with Venti or he's the one pushing you forward/towards the "right direction" to discover more. He definetely knows more than what he says and he's not even trying to hide the fact that he knows stuff, you can tell he's obviously lying when he says he doesn't know anything or he didn't do anything. Venti is so underrated when I actually think he's going to be even more important than all the other Archons towards the end of the game along with the Tsaritsa.
Venti has been doing since the beginning what Zhongli did in the AQ, letting the people govern themselves and only planning to step in if the crisis escalates beyond control, except he never had to fake his own death, so people can keep putting their trust in him. Alice and Klee parallel the relationship of Venti and his people really well. Someone who is seemingly never there but always cares and watches, and his people are content with it just like Klee who fully trusts her mom.
One of the least understood concepts by people is 'freedom' and what it means to have 'responsibility over your freedom'. So it's no surprise a God themed over that concept is also one of the least understood characters.
Little fun detail: Barbatos is one of the few archons who actually has some sort of omnipresence, as he can hear wishes of people fat and wide, second(?) only to Nahida. Venti blessed each windglider in whole teyvat, as you can see his particles when opening it, and there is some lore in Sumeru windgliders

Or what if he will be the one supporting the lead behind the scene? Decarabian: venti and the nameless bard Lawrence clan: venti and venessa Celestia: venti and ? (Maybe the tsaritsa) Third time is the charm, right?
Both venti and zhongli know a lot and give away little because they know something is watching, something that doesnt have the world's interests at heart. They were both quite happy to let their gnosis's go, in fact all the gods have been which means theres a plan afoot that the traveller doesnt know about. Currently it appears as if the fatui are the bad guys but it's been made to look that way so the misdirection is complete.
You shouldn't look down on Venti because that's exactly what they want you to do and the moment you do, you will be playing right into those smarmy little wine-stained hands
Yeah, i agree. Gods may not have a sex since they can take any form they want but they do have gender, and its clear that venti wants to be seen as male, regardless of his reputation as a femboy in the fandom (No one has once confused his gender in the game and he wears male clothing technically)
