@@illuddivinus3309 It's not like the now corporate Knot couldn't afford him... He's one of the best in the genre, and not the only one gone, Slipknot sold their soul and it's been apparent for quite some time. I wish Jay nothing but the best and I can't wait to listen to him in another band.

So they got rid of one of the most talented members of the band and best drummers in the world. If anyone were surplus to requirements in the band most likely Clown or Mike. Funnily enough it was probably clown that got rid of Jay.

Jay wasn't just a replacement, he brought a new spark to the band, his energy, his drum skills, it was a whole new thing (at the lack of a better word I will just say thing) and exactly what Slipknot needed.
what are all you guys talking about lol not going to lie im not super into slipknot but am a huge drum nerd and this guy is very mediocre and has a very relaxed kinda boring live presence from all the videos ive been watching lately especially this one!

What an absolute tragedy your exit from the band is. I’m not gonna sit here and speculate. It’s none of my business. Just know that the fandom embraced you harder than any other “replacement” member I’ve ever seen. You were never a replacement. You fit this band like a glove and you kept them fresh at their very foundation for 10 solid years. Thank you, bro. Best of luck in the future. I’m an instant fan of WHATEVER you do.
I agree, when .5 came out I remember thinking how much a solid unit they sounded, he just fit the sound perfectly and instantly I was all in as a fan of slipknot in knowing jay is the perfect drummer for them!

Yeh, he was getting sloopy on the double bass so he had to improvise a fill in that minute to compensate the failing double bass.
This dude gets way more praise than hes do to, he struggles a lot on the fast double bass parts and any real musician will tell you so, not saying is not an amazing musician, he is, but he is also really sloppy and not has tight has he should be, since this is job.
This is your best live drum cam sound ever! We can hear all the other instruments clear, which is really cool, but the drums still stand out perfectly. Keep it up, man! ❤

I'm thankful I got to see Jay live in March at Melbourne Knotfest, I can rest easy knowing I got to see that legend live in the flesh- his precision, poise and creativity elevated The Knot more than anybody could ever hope to achieve. It's bittersweet, they booted both drummers who both ended u being generational talents for the same band- but I know Jay will be an upgrade for literally all bands he decides to play on with, he's still young in his music career and I have nothing but love for him, he got me started in drumming.
Jay you did slipknot beyond Justice and you’re a fkn beast and the real fans will support whatever you do next.

Being able to control the tempo like that is insane. And changing it from one foot to the other, all while doing different tempos with each stick, is mind boggling.
I love the full band mix vs isolated drums.
My wife and was able to see Slipknot last year in Charlotte. And when i say Jay hits that kit, YOU KNOW IT! I just dont how anyone is going to be able to sit behind the kit and bring it like Jay did for 10 year's! To See, hear, Jay live is something in it self you have to experience live!

I’ve been lucky enough to meet Jay and see him play up close and personal. Everyone is talking about Elstepario, but he doesn’t come close to Jay when it comes to feel and groove. He sounds like a drum machine. So dumb, Jay is amazing.
