i liked ur way of using scrim tape to fix the anglebead.
another way is to dab a little multifinish plaster - and bed the anglebead in - and once firm - the plaster will hold the bead in place - ready for the skim coat.

Mr V - good tip. Thanks and it worked really well with the Scrim Tape. Funnily enough, I couldn't find anyone else doing the same so I was a little apprehensive at first but the bead didn't budge an inch when I plastered it. I'm going to put all the options of fixing beading onto my website post, so I'll be sure to put in your suggestion too. Many thanks

It is really nice and refreshing to see someone actually testing these different methods, instead of insisting upon one just because it was the way they were shown.
The close ups and your detailed explanations/investigations are super helpful, thank you.

I tried your scrim tape method today and it worked a treat the only problem was the tape wasn't very sticky so when it was all done I watered down some Pva and brushed it on the tape and it's stuck rigid ,cheers

Hi Mark, sorry to hear it didn't stick as well as it should. I'm trying to think why that might be, did your plasterboard look like mine or could it have been dusty?

As a plasterer who uses beads at the time. I'd say the screw is a bad idea. The head of the screw comes out too far. The simplest way is the best. Just put a few plasterboards nail in it on each side. Fastest way possible and holds it solid
Ps. Never seen scrim being used or even assumed it would work. Tho i like the idea of it, be checking that out on Monday lol. Good video mate

When you screw beads onto board there should always be a solid base behind for them to screw into I.e wood etc so they won’t spin and clout nails need a solid base to grip into also

If on plaster board the easiest way is to buy mini mesh beads and staple them...takes second and fixes better than scrim....

Great video. Which corner bead do you use? I find that the stuff from Wickes, etc isn't actually 90 degrees so it protrudes about 5mm when fitted to the wall. The one you use seems to hug the corner really well though and looks to be a true 90 degrees. Cheers

Hi Andrew, if my memory serves me correctly, I got mine from my local builders merchants. I'm not sure which nationwide store has the type you're after I'm afraid.

I have a badly damaged corner blown both sides around 3 inches the bead has got bent outwards with cracked plaster underneath is it best to snip it out and try to hammer it flat and replace and fill over it?
    Would appreciate any tips
