Lyrics:
If you don't got ends, you won't be getting no skins
And if you don't got money, you won't scoop a honey
If you don't got cash, you won't be getting no ass
And if you're not clocking loot you won't be knocking no boots

Big L has got to be a rare rapper because all they say is Tupac and Biggie are the best rappers of all time. Big L was like a combination between Tupac and Biggie. He had aggressive lyrics like Tupac and flow like Biggie.
Antholo G i dont think he could touch biggies flow, and his lyrics had punz on punz but couldnt touch Pacs poetry. Hes nice af, but i wouldnt but him atop either pac or big. Hes like a more 90s street sounding MF DOOM
check "I Won't" many people think he can only spit punches
i cant disagree more "combination between Tupac and Biggie"
biggie had aggressive lyrics to wdym

They should make a movie of Big L. like if u agree

They were going to make a whole documentary but IDK what happened to that project.

This is literally the polar opposite of mumble rap. Big L clearly enunciates every word. This is poetry for real
It's called having a mind
@@Harp_and_Guitar_Moving_Forward yeah for real. Idk I’ll mumble when I’m rapping to even this shit when I’m just chilling and don’t want to put forth effort ya feel? But if you producing a song I don’t think you should mumble, idk we have Big L and they got their mumble
@@Harp_and_Guitar_Moving_Forward No it has more to do with dialect. Most mumble rappers are from the south. Big L is from Harlem. People in New York annunciate more than southern states. A lot of “mumble” rappers can actually rap, their accents are just harder to pick up on

Big L was Harlem, I was born and raised in Harlem real chill dude When I use to hang out I would always see him in all Harlem spots .. the sports bar, PJ’s, Ebony’s lounge, Willy lounge, Lenox lounge..what ever was popping that weekend L was there. He really spent time in the streets not like these dudes who pretend they be in the hood. This song bring back so many memories...nostalgia
He was the protege of Minister Malcolm
Real or not, the hood is what killed him, if he had left maybe he would still be alive today.
"They want a drug dealer not a scholar, some girls barely even speak but always asking for a dollar." Lyricism at it's finest. 🔥🔥🔥 #RIPBigL

When you have a song where the lyrics actually tell a story or talk about something meaningful, some inflection or revelation. I mean this style of music started as a way to protest corrupted law, police and prisons. It was an intelligent movement in the 70's.
