With replicas on the rise and looking 90% like an authentic, it would be wise to buy a pre-loved with so much savings. Probably get more bags instead of one new bag. Thanks for sharing your opinions. ❤
Yes piece of mind always plays a part when buying preloved. I like a mixture of both. I do think reputable resellers and authentication services have their place though and there is alot of money to be saved with preloved.
I’ve purchased a Fendi mini peekaboo new from the boutique and I would absolutely do it again. The pre loved ones tend to look pretty beaten up and I am very weary of counterfeit items buying any bag preloved. I love the boutique experience and the Fendi customer service has been amazing. I never buy bags with the intention to sell so resale value means very little to me. I buy the bags I love and wear them how I like which makes them truly mine.
I am getting ready to have a Chanel chain extended and additional holes punched in a Gucci bag. I've really struggled with this decision due to losing resell value. But I have come to a place that I cannot continue to think of resell when purchasing and using my begs. Else, they will just sit there or have constant turnover. I want to start building a real relationship with them and that includes making altertaions to make them perfect for me.
I Disagree about the Chanel Classic flap - Here in the states I have never found a medium or small classic flap in excellent condition for half price - in fact if you want excellent condition they are selling for at least $9000 or more! Even a bag in very good condition is priced above $8000. I have a medium classic black caviar with gold hardware bought in 2016 and a beige caviar classic bought when it was about $7000. At the time I couldn’t find a pre-loved excellent beige for less.
I very much agree. I bought mine Claire medium preloved only because I didn’t want to wait for ages to get that specific colour brand new. The price I paid for my colour was the same or even more than the same bag brand new but black …😅
You just need to shop around. A medium classic flap was on my wishlist since 2018. But I couldn't afford it and went to LV. Now I'm ready to buy but I cannot spend $10,200 on a bag in stores. I prefer new but that's too much. I posted an ISO in the FB groups and got a ton under and over my budget. A lot of the newer ones are close to $7k to 9k but I found many in the $6k range as well even for caviar. I ended up scoring a 2019 like new full set medium classic flap in black lambskin with gold hardware for $6300 USD. I'm excited to finally add it into my collection. That was the last bag on my wishlist so I am at purse peace for a long while. This was 2 weeks ago btw.
I never buy for Resale value. I am careful and only but what I truly love. So yes if any if these bags it’s because I love it!! I only buy from store-Just don’t trust preloved anymore and nit keen on others using the bags.
I own the Fendi Peekaboo and it is an amazing bag. I take very good care of it but wished the metal piece would (sometimes) get in the way. Great quality!

A little bit disagree with Chanel. If you want an excellent condition and not too old - preloved price would not be 50% less of rrp. Also depending on the colour etc. I got mine Claire medium preloved bc didn’t want to wait for ages for the colour brand new, and I paid similar or even more than rrp for the bag but black.

It’s great to to learn which are worth buying pre loved but just wanted to share that pre loved Often means used In varying levels ….these are extremely expensive items. At this price point, wouldn’t people prefer a new bag vs two used one???
When you buy a designer bag, do they provide you with a serial number or something to prove the bag is legit?? Or how does it work. , thinking in buying my first luxury bag.😅
Do you mean, if you buy it preloved? If so, I both buy and sell preloved as well as from the stores. I have nothing but good things to say about the preloved market from my experiences in the past 10 years. . In answer to your question I provide original receipts almost always. If there is a serial number or an LV date code you provide it. Now LV has microchips so I provide that and an explanation of how it works for the buyer. It’s definitely a way to get a bag you have lusted over but is no longer available or just purchase a bag and save money! People have very personal reasons for wanting to sell a bag and I prefer contact with the seller if that is possible.
You can for the jumbo classic flap. I found many between $4800 to $6500. But for medium classic flap, it's usually around $6200 to $9000 depending on condition and year. I got my medium black classic flap with gold hardware in like new condition from 2019 for $6300 about 3 weeks ago.
