There was a dialogue in one of Mithun Chokroborty movie that Bhagwaan jab deta hai to chhappar faad k deta hai aur leta hai to thappad maar k leta hai.
Also that was a time of transition, the royals lost what they were ruling for centuries in span of few days. Imagine a demonitization like fiasco where you will not get back what you give. It will be like you give 1000 bucks and get back 10 rupees. In this case these were royals too and let's accept the royals are royals they are not flexible like us who could be fucked by everyone in the name of nationalism because for the royals the nation was their property. They owned it. Saying that they could get a job and had a business or opened a hotel there is just suggesting without knowing the real thing. There must be mental health involved (the beghum committed suicide), there must be sex involved and a hell lot of money which was theirs a few years back but now of the government. Why are we all judging. We don't even know exactly what lives they lived. Some say laziness it could be sickness may be mentally and physically. It could be anything. Some people are strong enough but some are weak. The strong should lift up the weak and the weak should never give up. It could also be they were having pride as well but we shouldn't judge coz one day we all are going to be judged. Leave it to God, He is everyone's judge. Some people even think it's easy to live a life alone but honestly loneliness is the greatest poverty like Saint Mother Theresa said. So always show compassion to people no matter whatever they are that's the best way to love one another.

This video is a good example of what happened to the last of many royal families who refused to accept the changing times, tried to hold onto their past glory, suffered terribly and eventually reduced to ashes - living in squalor and died suffering and alone..
And most of the comments below is also a perfect example of how vile and venomous humans are by enlarge - so insensitive, lacking in compassion, , quick to judge and so very unkind and love to gloat over other people's misfortunes so gleefully..
Most didn't view it as a simple story of three people whose lives were turned upside down and rendered penniless, homeless and all the hardships, pain and humiliation they had to go through as one committed suicide and the other wasted away and died alone.
Most of the comments below clearly revealed so much about human nature and just how malicious and unkind we are by nature without a thought for other people's suffering - rich or poor.

It so so sad to hear the people in the comment obsessed about their ability to lead a normal life. The ignorance and apathy people show towards mental health is literally the cruelest attitude I have seen.
These people who once lead a powerful and luxurious life became homeless. Imagine the kind of shock anyone feels. Its not a different story for millions of Indians to be living on the street it's a whole different story for someone from the elite social circle. You fall from there your entire social support vanishes. Your social skills cant match with changing lifestyle you suddenly find yourself social anxious and avoidant because you associate the pain of people whp left you when your life fell apart with every person in the society. You slowly self ostracize yourself.
The moment we lose our social bonds we lose our ability to survive, loneliness and isolation eats away our self confidence & self worth. Depression becomes very intense.. Nobody in such a state of mind let alone work in a job, they cannot even take care of themselves. They further isolate themselves living away from society because they literally feels they cannot connect with anyone.. Ultimately people commit suicide or die a lonely death.
This is not a story of this family alone millions of people around the world suffer from social anxiety, depression, social isolation and imagine if once a royal family all powerful with the highest social status couldn't help themselves seek the right support group and treatment what will an average citizen of this country will do when they have mental health issues.
Its a shame that people hear neither have any idea about the state of living with mental health. There are poor people living on the roadside with families and being happy similing and their disease is poverty and then there mental health sufferers who become poor because their diseases leaves them helpless and depressed on the street you see that is the lowest and the most painful state any human can experience to be forsaken by society, to be given up ones own self. 😥 Whoever it is whether a royal family member or not nobody deserves to die a lonely death it is the most painful thing that happenes on a planet of 7 billion people. Please have empathy and compassion

I once read a news article where an IIT student had committed suicide, when I read the comments section of that article, I was absolutely was shocked to see that instead of showing sympathy for the victim, the people were calling him a coward and a wimp. It was heart breaking. People simply have no idea what mental health problems are all about and what the people who suffer from them go through.

He was suffering from schizophrenia and he wouldn't even recognise his daughter as treatment continues he eventually comes to senses and remembers her daughter and is thankful for her & she feels happy to finally be united with her long lost father. @@sno2worry856 Abey lodu... These palaces were heritage sites as is red fort, taj Mahal, palaces in Jaipur... They generate revenue for India through tourism and provide employment to locals.... Not to the erstwhile royal families.... And BTW... It's the madarchod UP Muslim waqf board which is demanding Taj Mahal to be removed from tourist places and declared a mosque... And whether UP govt does it not.... It is still managed by Ministry of Culture under Union Govt..... Check ur facts before reading farts from qooooran

I felt sad honestly. Why doesn't anyone in the comment section realise that their lineage is a representation of our past and seeing them come down to such poverty is heartbreaking ?

very sad though I feel he should have protected himself. But to think is it not an irony we all tell them that since once they are royal they should not expect the govt to provide them but we had promised many royals a sum of money as privy purses for handing over their state and later congress under Indra went back on the promise by abolishing it over night? still more controversial issue is that yesterday's poor are today the super rich because they are in politics, not due to business or job. comparing to those lucky looting lots, I thing he should have been provided with some aid.
