Bought a Cupra 290 with manual transmission a month ago and I absolutely love that car, it’s an amazing Allrounder - coming from a hardcore BMW fanboy. Cupra is the cooler GTI!

@@Rick776 the oil consumption? Brother if oil consumption bothers you don't even ask about fuel loool it's a great reliable engine same as in the golf R , GTI , skoda RS etc
@@Rick776 It consumes little oil the 2.0 TSI is an incredible engine and very very reliable it is like the 1.9 TDI that the VW group also built, something very reliable. The Cupra is a car that runs a lot I tell you it makes me 100- 200 in 8.9s faster than an M3 Competition Touring for example it is a machine if you are thinking about it don't think about it anymore start looking for prices and calmly choose the one you like the most and that suits you budget and kilometers

the m133 engine in my 1st gen (2018) GLA45 make 380hp stock !! Since its debut in 2013, it has been awarded International Engine of the Year three times in the "Best New Engine" and "1.8-litre to 2-litre" categories. what about that Seat engine ?
@@jdavidblais It is a Volkswagen engine in the Seat. GL45 engine is really good, i have not heard anything bad about it. BUT: BMW N42 Engine also was called "Engine of the year" but it was actually one of their WORST engines and they know it! There were so many problems with the timing chain and the chain tensioner. I had to replace the chain for 2 times and the chain tensioner 5(!) times. BMW re engineered the tensioner 3 times but it was still not good enough. "Engine of the year" award is just a momentary snapshot of the impression of the motor at the time it was new. It means absolutely nothing in the long term. With kind regards, Andreas

Got this...apr stage 2, 255kw....kombi....no sport exhaust. Beautiful, quiet sleeper. Change oil regurarly and its extremely reliable

I own a 2015 Cupra manual stage 2 for 7 months now. Such a fun machine! Only the manual is a bit hard to handle with 413hp, but driver issue for sure. Will get there after more km's!

I miss mine. Had every option except the DSG. these stay with stage 1 s3s and Rs when stock and rolling, they out handle them and feel/look much nicer.
The times would be better if you got lost of the 80kg in the backseat!! 😁

I have a 2020 ST version. It's a wolf in sheeps clothing. Not a lot of cars can keep up, and it's sooo fun to drive despite bigger boot.

I used to have a leon cupraR bam engine 1.8 20vt 1stage 280hp, I never had a problem with mechanical parts. I know many people with more than 300,000 km without problems in the engine and gearbox, but beyond that many problems! then the tsi tfsi were very unreliable engines until 2015-2016 they say this generation is very reliable, is that true? can it compete in reliability with the 1.8 20vt?
I want to get this leon or the hyundai i30n in the future, I'm between these 2.
EA888 is the 1.8t of these days. Reliable, can hold alot more power than 1.8t, smoother and more economical. Maybe not that engaging to drive compared to your Leon, but miles more refined.
i30N is a great machine. If you want to keep your car stock, pick the N. Although it drinks a bit more fuel than TSI, the car as a whole is just more fun to drive. Less refined, slightly worse interior materials, heavier, but more fun.
As a daily, I'd pick any car with TSI (leon, golf, octavia etc.), simply because it's more refined, economical and proven very reliable. Also more tunable than the N if you want to go faster.
@monsterrapid thanks for your advice mate! Which ea888 you say relibale 2015 and after models? Also now I have a toyota corolla tsport 2zzge with 192hp N/A hp. It's not too fast but it's OK for me and the 8.400rpm is real pleasure! I don't know if it's worth selling it and paying another €20,000 for an i30n, leon etc...🤔 they also say that this toyota/yamaha engine will get great value in the future.

My RTECH stage 1 374bhp 383ft, lb DSG 280 has a verified 9.03 100-200. Seems like these outside UK maps are poor.
Just 1 sec faster than my 320hp gti Performance with dsg. My top speed with one more gear left was 274 It was rainy and it even goes slightly uphill.

Don’t underestimate the DSG.
Frontwheel driven cupras with around 400hp drop sub 10s times 100-200 on regular bases. The EA888 might not be very emotional but it’s potential is crazy and they’re fast as hell out of the box already
par contre j'ai mal pour le TSI a 7000 tr/min ...c'est moyen pour la longévité du moteur surtout qu'elle est reprog...c'est la qu'on voit quand même que ce moteur est hyper fiable mais bon fait pas ça tous les jours si tu veux le conserver...

@@lol4224 DSG is highly unreliable and is certainly not as nice to drive as an M/T. And certainly not as secure when it gets slippery (snow,mud, ice...) as it change to change gears anyway without you wanting it.
