Hey there! I’m Arlene, your neighborhood bibliophile and self proclaimed planner nerd. Giving you a peek into the inner workings of my ADHD mama brain.

𝓶𝓮: Momma of two (a teen & a tween), a RN turned WAHM (like 27 jobs, maybe not that many) that tackles homeschooling said children…at the same time. It’s possible and also insane. (Refer back to planner addiction).
I have a PhD in sarcasm and not afraid to use it. I’ve been known to break out in my mother tongue (Spanglish) when I get excited (Dominicana soy!).

Kinda but mostly for the overall goal and direction. It’s hard to compare them since this is a big leap from what the elementary levels of Harcourt offers (and I’m referring to grade 5 one, and comparing the transition to this one for grade 6 and above). It includes a lot of added elements or focus on things such as composition , assessments, written comparison, research, critical thinking and criticism, portfolio reports etc. It’s a big leap, which I’m mentioning for those that are using Harcourt elementary series to be aware, the expectation is much higher and complex. While still being appropriate for the age. But definitely a big leap from one to another. Obviously that being said, Harcourt is definitely appropriate and solid for the age range. It’s a really nice option as well. I just want to make sure to note that so it’s not a shock for those transition to it.

Coursera offers classes about teaching art through the Museum of Modern Art in NYC. They’re a great resource for homeschool parents but you have to pay to access all the projects

Thanks for the review. I picked up one of glencoe’s history books for a spine since sometimes I feel like living books can be a bit disconnected to a timeline for elementary kids. I will have to pick up this art book too.

I enjoy your channel, but honestly wish you wouldn’t move your hands so much. It’s very distracting, and actually makes me feel a little nauseous.

Well I’m Hispanic and we talk with our hands. I’m sorry you feel that way, but I can’t change my culture or who I am.

Wow, how completely unnecessary. You could have just be an actual adult and said nothing but instead chose to be a jerk. Good job.
