I have to say that it is incomprehensible how anyone can have an issue with this guy and what he is doing. He is bright, ingenious, likeable and engaging. My only guess would be jealousy on the critic's part? Kick on Kris!!

I don't comment often, but I just wanted to say that this is one of my favorite channels. Very inventive, well-planned and well-executed projects. I never know what you'll do next. I hope you don't let the trolls bother you - they're always there trying to get you to react. I believe the best way to deal with them is to avoid reacting to them at all. Once you respond, they've gotten what they're after. Keep up the good work. I'm an old man from the U.S. who wishes he could be doing half the stuff you are. Enjoy.

'The person I am travelling with' What a give away! Brilliant. I redesigned my Bongo so it had a proper bed, kitchen with fridge and toilet. And I could still go to IKEA. Take rubbish to the dump. Roamed the continent. Carted the grandkids about in it and even took one of them home in his home made coffin. But the gear box wore out and then it blew a gasket. I miss that van.

Nice. If I may my two cents in ..
    1. I'd use tension screws to hold whole thing in place. Seems to me more appropriate to fasten things down. Seen some using small strap ratchets as well.
    2. make a latches to those folding tables so in folded position those small shelves / reinforcements can be used as shelves

HAH! Nice work Kris. We did a similar conversion with aluminium framing in the rear and a piano hinge attached to plywood for the fold over bed idea. Ours isn't removable though. We used timber slats over ply wood in the back to discourage mould under the bed. Some people drill holes in the ply wood to increase air flow under the bed platform.

    A couple of suggestions:
    1) buy some neodymium magnets and insert then in the tables and back with epoxy and use them to keep the tables upright.
    2) build a frame of 2x4s a little higher than the back of the van to help with the lifting out of the camper portion.

For removal, all you need is a bench at the height of the bottom of the box (camper assy). Open hatch, back near bench, slide the box out onto the bench, same for putting back in. You can even cut some large holes in the sides (maybe bottom as well, to lighten the structure.

This is one of the coolest setups I have ever seen. I've recently got the camper van bug and have to look to a Delica import as the US doesn't get this vehicle. I have a few questions if you don't mind... Do the rear swivel seats come stock? The way you setup those rear seats and the bed as an optional table is so perfect and exactly the kind of thing I am looking for. I have been struggling between this and the camper van version with the pop up roof. Do you know the interior dimension? Basically interior width/height of the cargo area, and the length from the trunk/hatch to the seats while the seats are pushed back in bed mode? Grats on the build, its great.

I had never seen that Mitsubishi Delica before being that I'm in north america. Now after looking them up...WHY can't we have useful, practical, economical things like this in the US in left hand drive!?? I don't want a giant pickup truck that is too long to park with a bed too high to use that gets 10 mpg, has a turning circle the size of a ball park, cost 75000, has tires that are 500 a piece, needs 3K in upfits to be sort of practical for carrying tools, and depreciates 10K a year.
