So many accidents like this at the Zoo for the longest time and yet it still happens and people act surprised. If a kid can make their way into an enclosure then it clearly isn't secure enough.

My father works for a gorilla foundation, and hes always inside the habitats holding them and playing with them, gorillas are not heartless, they are gentle, especially with little things, like humans they have minds.

Harambe was treating the child like a baby gorilla and all the people were scaring him. Humans don't have the instincts to get on the gorilla's back like a baby gorilla when the parent signals them to.

Some people think Harambe was dragging and harming the child. Some people don't know how strong a silverback gorilla is. If he wanted to then the gorilla could have just snapped the boy in two, pounded the boy to the ground, etc.
And the dragging thing, that is how gorilla drag their children away from danger. You can look it up. A gorilla uses their kid's leg or arm to drag him away from danger.
And people hysterically screaming and throwing stones was danger in his eyes.

even without tranquilisers, you would expect that there would be a rescue squad specifically for handling precarious situations in zoos, i.e. extracting a child from a gorilla habitat.

Well if you just got the kid instead of shooting the gorilla you would of saved 2 life’s.
They wouldn’t have to shoot him if someone got the kid. Harambe legit had the kid at a door that employees used to get into the enclosure so someone could have opened the door and got him
a tranquilizer would anger and frustrate Harambe before it knocked him, out makeing it VERY unsafe for the kid

All because a parent couldn't take care of her son, so we have one less Silver back Gorrilla, which is endangered.
Apparently the reason why they didn't tranquillise the dude was because it would have angered him and would have led to him raging and damaging the young boy so it was more of a risky move. I think the fault is entirely down to the parents neglect and the child's curiosity.
They could've sent someone down like his keeper to calm down poor Harambe or take the kid away 😭
