@@rebeltvr6046it’s funny he talked about trying to take it easy. Lidstrom is arguably the opposite of Forsberg, always economical and careful. He made it work for many years, taking it easy in his own way, always outsmarting everyone and not putting hard miles on his body. I’m glad I got to see both play, both one of a kind.

Wow! What a story....Sure says a lot about Roy and his awareness of everything going on all over the ice. But I think it also demonstrates what a class act Forsberg is being able to own being called out in front of his team. Remember, at that time Forsberg was a like a major stud and to be humble enough to admit that he was giving less than 100% is awesome. Nice of Forsberg to remind people how important players like Keane were, also.

The best talent to have with greatness is humility for sure. Roy was a icon but his lack of humility has turned him into either the butt of the joke or one to be feared. That’s makes it difficult to have him teach another how to follow his talent and that is a shame cause he was so fun to watch. It would be great to have that kind of goalie out there again.
There’s obviously great goalies out there now, just Roy brought a certain flair as long as he was angry.

You mistakenly took what you thought as arrogance but it was more a win at all costs attitude

I actually looked at him in the opposite way. I didn’t think he was that great athletically. He looked clunky and just became a big robot wall but his attitude, the mystique and of course the media pumping his tires his whole career had players second guessing themselves or trying to make an extra move. He was in a lot of players heads and they were beat before the game started.

Quick reminder, the Avs won more games in the playoffs with Forsberg out injured then they did with him in the line-up. But go on, lie about how "great" he was.

Bobby Orr had a +/- of -2 in the 1971 playoff quarterfinal series against winner Montreal Canadiens. But go on, lie about how "great" Orr was.

I love the fact that he points to Mike Keane and Claude Lemieux as well as Patrick Roy as the keys to success in Colorado. I dislike that you seem to dismeiss them. Patrick was ONE key, but if not for Keane and Lemieux, Colorado loses. There is only ONE reason that Claude Lemieux is not in the HHOF, and that reason is Scotty Bowman. -- meowMeowmeow(tabernac).

Could you elaborate on that last statement? Claude was obviously a cheap shot artist and a dick on the ice, but oh man what a money player he was too. I remember when Claude's younger brother Jocelyn arrived on the NHL scene, there was a story in Sports Illustrated where he was quoted as saying that players would spear and cross check him for no reason and then say, "We hate your brother, and we hate you too." Or words to that effect.

@@rainers.2080 Read much? Tabernac. I believe that Scotty Bowman is keeping Claude Lemieux out of the Hockey Hall of Fame. EOS.
