Welcome back, guys. This video has everything you need to know about the brand new Seismic Sensor being added to Rust. That an overview of the seismic sensor, a simple setup that will trigger an alarm, and an advanced setup that show you how to create a circuit that automatically opens turret pods when you are being raid. I hope you all enjoy, thanks for watching!

Offlining is OP, this is a more leveled playing field. I'm all for it.
I really think so too. It means I can play a wipe without destroying the sleep schedule lol!
@@ChazzeyRustI think you mean destroy it worse. I doubt it'll stop people. 😂
if you rocket the door (open or closed), the door controller breaks, removing passthrough power to the turret. Would it be better to put the door controller on the wall behind the turret or to the side?
You can only place the door controller on the door now, but adding an electrical branch on the wall that sends 1 power to the door controller and 10 power to the turret will fix this issue. Thank you for pointing that out!
@@ChazzeyRust Good to know ty!!
I wonder if flipping the door around to not show the door controller would protect it from that first rocket ?
Meet kevin plays rust??😂
Before the seismic sensor, I had made a similar auto raid defense circuit, my circuit used an hbhf sensor behind the first door to trigger the trap. I also had a time delay circuit on the door controllers, so the turrets were ready to fire when the doors open, giving less time for the enemies to react. This can be done with a timer and blocker.
Problem with sensors they don't keep the turrets and doors open. Unless there's another way to do it that I haven't figured out... maybe a memory cell?
@@Under-Kaoz A memory cell will work. The last section of this video shows how to make the circuit.
@@bullfrog521 Ahh shit, I didn't make it the whole way I'll check it out. I play on console sadly so I just like to see what's gonna come out eventually, but didn't study it in depth yet.
Thanks for the heads up, I'm wiping my server today and then I'll give it a shot on the aircraft carrier I'm building since us peasants just got tug boats.
This is an alright method for offline defence but the old door controllers were much better.
You could hide them so well and lock raiders behind a 15 rocket door path.
Seismic sensors are useful for big bases since you can approximate the breach angle. Good part of an EWS in general but i really wish they'd let door controllers be placed manually
yea good point
I have done just like you but nothing happens when I shoot rockets nearby, range is at 30
very good tutorial
so can you make it the door automatically close or no?
What if i only wanted the doors to open for like ~30 secondes? can ich just replace the smart switch with a timer?
My seismic sensor goes off every single time the sam sites go off
This is actually an oversight on my part, I didn't realize the SAMs set the seismic sensor off as well. I think the only good solution to prevent the SAMs from setting off the seismic sensor would be to make the range smaller. Let me know if that works for you!
First of all, great video mate! I set it up at my base and i tested it. Unfortunately, the door closes immediately after. Like it would not even have time shooting someone :( what did I do wrong?
Question. 1st passthrough on door controller is max 1 power if i remember correctly, how do you get 10 power? 2. Why add smart alarm if you can setup the seismic as alarm?
would be cool but it prob works the same way as the movement sensors or whatever they are, every time i try to use one it says too many people have already done it in the server so i can never actually use stuff like this, kinda lame
Hey bro,
Great guide
Im
A bit stuck on a circuit. I want to add a timer to doors so they close after couple minutes and reopen if seismic gets activty again. Can you help?i got as far that doors open but they will close after second explosion.
How do you do it so you can detect certain types instead of the whole thing
Thank you for the tutorial.
one could probably add a timer to close the pods after a sertan time of no explotions
Or another smart switch to remotely shutdown the entire system.
Can you please do a video on the memory loop to have a door randomly open and closer in your base? I am not sure of how to do it with the new door controler.
This is a really good idea, I'll probably look into making a video about the best circuits to help prevent offline raids.
I found myself being distracted by that crunchy guitar riff starting @ 06:30 (when i noticed it) instead of paying attention to the electrical set-up lol. I picked up my Stratocaster and started trying to figure it out 😁
Is that your own music or just some canned generic stuff?
great tutorial, thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Eh I wouldn't say the sensors is "OP", it seems like it's balanced perfectly.
Finally, Facepunch doesn't dickpunch the solos (and gives them a means of defending themselves) -- this is the first upgrade to do that in a while
Cool circuit tho I like your idea
Does it detect thru walls? I saw another youtuber that showed that walls can mitigate it but maybe I misunderstood
In my testing, I found that it was able to detect through any wall as long as the explosion was still within the set range.
@ChazzeyRust thanks for the reply, I had already checked it and saw the same. Seems what I saw was him showing one side of the was was a fraction over the 30m which is why it didn't alert.
does the rust+ smart alarm work/sends a notification even if you are online? for example roaming?
Yes, it does go off even when you are online. So, if you started to get raided while you were across the map on cargo, you would still get notified by the smart alarm.
@@ChazzeyRust lovely, thanks for the quick response
first of all nice video and explanation. Its nice that the new sensore is triggered when someone is raiding, but it's basically the same like you do with doorcontroller and hbf sensor, isnt it? If u connect smart alarm to turret and hbf sensor to door controller, it's the same or not. Doors gonna open when raiders are in front of it?
a hbhf has "to see" the enemy, a seismic sensors detect explo-damage depending on defined range (witch can 3 times higher than a hbhf, 30m vs 10m) - therefore can be used similar but is not the same ...
This update is a game changer! I really like your setup, but I think you should add another set of branches before the turrets and switches, because this way raiders can't shoot the door down from cover, disabling the turrets.
This is a great suggestion! Especially since electrical branches now longer use the extra power, adding them would definitely give you more security.
@@ChazzeyRust add an extra power to the turret and you can connect the out of ammo node on the turret to the close node of the door controller.
how to change cable colour ? i forgot it and cant find it ...
If you hold R while the wire tool is in your hand, then it opens the menu to select a color.
Zesty intro
Imma be a douche and start throwing nades at every base 3 o clock in the morning.
This will definitely be a good way to troll clans from now on!
bro you see rust like a dreammm wtfff they use batle metrix and its done fuck this shittt
Respawn/travel time: 5 mins
Login time: 30 mins
*Yeah....I don't think it's gonna help at all.*
On a potato PC yes
@@ohgoditsjames94 It doesn't matter what grade PC you have...login times in Rust are infamously long for a reason, the game isn't optimized in the slightest.
@@blankspace178 It absolutely DOES matter, load times are significantly faster depending on your drive, an SSD makes a huge difference.
@@ohgoditsjames94 Not on Rust....because the game is not optimized, so your hardware is only relevant during in-game rendering. Are you 12??
@@blankspace178 SSD makes a difference in server load time, I've had the game since the days of alpha. Ask anyone, installing the game on an SSD reduces load time.
