I live in a very cloudy state. And the electric has been off for up to 10 days. It goes off all the time, so many years ago I bought a Honda 2,000 watt generator. It will run everything but the well. So I bought a trolling motor battery and a 3,000 watt inverter for the well. I pump water once in the morning and once in the evening. The generator will run up to 12 hours on one gallon of gas. I can run the furnace, lights, tv, fridge, and freezer at the same time. And I charge the battery back up with the generator. The stove, hot water heater, and furnace except the fan runs on LP. I can't run the air conditioning, but that's okay. I seldom need it anyway.

You are practical. You created an emergency system way before lithium was available especially at today's prics. Yes if doing it over again, l'm sure you woujd have seriously considered using them. Four years ago I equipped a WeeRoll enclosed cargo trailer as an RV. I meet my energy needs similar to your system....Generator and propane. Lithium batteries were almost $1,500 way out of my budget. I just replaced my 4 heavy duty 6V batteries with litium where l paid only $229 for each. The lifetime of my lead acid's was getting shorter so l sold them helping to purchase the new upgrade. We all adjust as our conditions change.

You're right about checking codes. Insurance companies will check and if they can find something you did wrong after the house burns down they will not pay for the damage. Two years with my two Blueitti AC200P and very happy with them. Thanks for the review.

With enough solar and batteries you can run AC from solar. We generally stay home during the worst part of winter, but with a basement it's not too bad on the pipes.

OUPES has been on the market for quite some time now and I've used several of their products. Think about how much power you actually need plus the features that are important to you and then decide. This is one of my favorite brands though and I'm currently plugged into the Mega 2 on our present road trip.

I noticed on website description that storage cannot go below 30°F; how do you manage this battery in the winter time keeping it at or above 30°F?
I live in Alaska and I’m wondering about using one of these in my home and winter camping vehicle. I imagine that we have similar temperature extremes here in Alaska as you do there in Montana… Although not as hot here in Alaska in the summertime.
Thank you for your wonderful reviews and your content .

You can store it down to -4F, but you can't charge it below freezing, which is true for any lithium battery. I store mine inside during the winter here in Montana (lower Alaska).

Thanks Thomas! The wires that come with it are for a solar panel, but you can get an SAE (Anderson plug) with wire attached from Amazon and will just need to cut off the other end. Then it's just a matter of wiring the positive to the + buss of your RV and the negative to the - buss

As like in most everything else, advertising has infiltrated youtube large and in my opinion will be a part of what ruins it for folks...Adds are slowly getting longer, and it seems everybody on CZcams has got one and more to chime at ya these days...

I don't mind your whine and there's a good answer. When my channel was half this size I made twice as much from YT advertising. For whatever reason, YT just isn't paying us creators as much anymore and thus the need for seeking other sponsors. What we do is put out our regular videos on Fridays and, if I do a review, put that out on Mondays so you can decide whether to watch it or not. I generally don't put sponsored ads in any of our videos, just a dedicated product review.
