I have tried, on several occasions, to read Tristram Shandy and found it very difficult. I had an easier time with Ulysses, oddly enough, than TS. But maybe I should try again.
@@Xxxxxrrr6464 if I remember correctly (it's been awhile now) the titular character doesn't even make an appearance until well into the novel. The first 40-50% of the story is before Shandy's birth, and yet (again, if I recall) Shandy is narrating. An odd premise that, for some reason, threw me.
Don't bother friend; it's one of the worst novels, or attempts at art in general, a human being has ever produced. Truly disgusting, and not worth a moment's consideration by any serious person.
@@ericprinzing1600 it’s probably amusing in relation to what’s it’s not, one big comedy bit, tounge in cheek, we probably don’t get some of the jokes because the book is dated, heard someone say, not verbatim, it was like an anti-book at the time, hence the time wasting etc, rambling, bet possibly readers of the past could possibly blow through tilt like a tv show, generally since most people don’t read cause of the other media
I'm so enjoying these videos - thank you!
Thank you. 👌💕

Do it.
Was it the older English language, or the rambling that threw you off? I haven’t read it either and curious

@@ericprinzing1600 ha thanks I don’t think I will, maybe the grossness is what’s makes it funny, I’m not willing to put in 10 hrs or so for a joke…
