It is a very dangerous path to think the cards owe you anything. It doesn't matter how much you study. I'm glad Melissa is open about it and knows it is a problem, a lot of people do not. I am also a live cash game pro, been studying the game for around 3 years, and living off live cash games for 4 months, and I see the same kind of shit. It is very relatable what you say about the game being a "jungle" and things of the sort.
Lashing out or being a "know it all" or complaining makes it for a very annoying experience for those at the table. Keep that in mind, as it is your job and you would'nt want to be disliked at your workplace, especially when it can literally cost you money. And kudos to not only getting on the path to changing that, but also sharing with us. Wish you the very very best.
Love you two, love your content, cheers from Brasil

    Hello Pete and Melissa,
Thanks for the nice content again. Melissa is explaining her frustration after a bad beat and reacting in the way she rationally did not wanted. In Stoic Philosophy this is called pre-emotion and as Pete is saying it is almost impossible to solve. Of course with a lot of training you can decrease the change it is happening (waiting/doing nothing is indeed the best response, but sometimes just not realistic to do). I am trying to prevent become angry when my kids misbehave and still once a day I fuck up (but it was several times a day a year ago).
English is not my first language but some time ago I’ve read a book of someone who stated: Response instead of reacting.
React: Something happens, you take action
Response: Something happens, you wait (and think), you take action.
In my head there is now a very big difference between the two. I don’t know if it is correct English but for me it help to set for myself the goal in always responding instead of reacting.
One thing the two of you did not talk about is the fact you are feeling still feel bad about it the next morning. I think this is also a mental leak. I don’t mean this in a bad /mean way. In my opinion you are too hard for yourself and that will probably cost a lot of not good spend energy and maybe even a bad night’s sleep.
If you agree this is a mental issue, in my opinion your time is better spent working on this one. I think it basically accepting that you make a booboo and you are still a good person. You still can say sorry to the person (maybe he does not even remember what happened)
Some advice for Peet😊😊 Don’t read only one page a day of the daily stoic (what is a very good book) but just binge read it. Than you can also read all the other great books of Ryan Holiday (I’ve almost finished them all).

Pete's antipathy towards stereotypical thinking means that he sometimes goes too far the other way. In many spots a range bet is a completely reasonable simplification.

    Don't be a misreg but..
Bottling it up after a bad beat might honestly be worse.
Yeah don't belittle a fish or tap the glass but find a healthy way to get the frustration out. Any game where you can get a fish to put the money in drawing to 1 out can't be that bad.
