I like how Cam Mccormick doesnt just say things but engages the student. Things seem to stick better when you are doing a project together .
Thanks for watching and commenting
Father and son are friends of mine. Incredible family. Dad is putting his son first and totally dedicated to his sons goals
Thanks for the comment. They are a wonderful team.
Player asked great questions too. Challenges Cameron on reasoning and it helps player with deeper understanding. This player will be gooooood!
Yes he’s a great learner
Great lesson. Tiger and his coaches always talk about the 9 windows method. I love hitting knockdowns. You're right, my knockdown 6 can be longer than my stock 6.
Exactly!
A real golf lesson. This is the biggest problem with golf coaching, too many coaches don't know what a great lesson looks like.
Cheers
Love the lessons with Juniors, as a parent of a decent 13-year-old boy, the main feel for my son that has improved the full swing, is lead shoulder to lead foot in early transition, It has cleaned up ,path ,angle of attack and so much more ,great video
Brilliant. You’ve won by creating an environment where your child loves golf. Well done
Love the insight into full lessons! Lots of helpful information. Would love to see similar videos with regular amateurs. Low and mid handicaps. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching will keep it up
These lessons are amazing. Can't wait for the next one.
Thanks for watching
Cameron, this was incredible. The mass vs pressure was an absolute lightbulb moment for me. You're so good at distilling complex concepts down to understandable and practical explanations. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching and commenting
Great student! Really enjoyed this video and appreciate the importance of involving the student in the thought process.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Ty for sharing that session, simply brilliant work from both of you.
Glad you enjoyed it
There are only 3 coaches I watch or have anything to do with on CZcams and this man is definitely one of them!! Cameron is the real deal! This young talent is awesome to watch! He’s going to be a really solid player as a pro!
He’s a great young man from a great supporting family and will do very well
Thanks for watching.
love gamifying the feel of launching it low with that mini contest there. such a good idea to help get that ingrained
Thanks for watching
Made me happy to watch positive results equals happy. Great work tutor and pupil. 👌
Thank you so much 😀
these are so interesting and insightful! thanks for sharing!
Glad you like them!
What a wonderful lesson with a brilliant coach and a very talented junior golfer. Sterling has a very bright future in golf with an amazing team behind him.
Yes indeed
That was a great explanation of the force plate data in simple enough terms i can understand!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you very much for the great content.
Glad you enjoy it!
That, was very cool to watch and listen to, and of course, to see the outcome. outstanding young man, Cameron, your knowledge and understanding of how the body can produce different outcomes is incredible. I'm a pretty smart guy, and I understand all the concepts that were talked about, but to actually make it happen is a beautiful thing to watch.Whats that very old saying, Actions speak louder than words, to be a Great teacher knowledge brings confidence, but to make it all come together so the student can perform, is just outstanding, very happy for that young man. Thanks guys, good luck in the regionals.
Thanks very much for the thoughtful comment. All the best
@CameronMcCormickGolf I also caught the practice clipbwith Jordan , when you said to Jordan ,I make the rules here,I said to myself that's the guy I want coaching/ teaching me if I was at that level, idk, I love listening and watching brilliant minds at work, thank God for people like you, born to teach others in a way were it makes a difference. Anyway, I just wanted to give credit we're credit is due, well deserved your success. looking forward to learning more about the elusive golf swing lol. be safe.
most youtube videos i watch at 1.25 or 1.5 speed, and this was one i wanted to watch at .75 speed. lots of playbacks to understand concepts... Great video!
Thanks for watching
Interesting that you encouraged some lateral movement to the lead side. I had a coach that completely discouranged that (called it body checking the ball). However, when I allow myself some lateral movement towards the target my launch angles and distance are way better. Your video explains why!!! Thanks
Excellent
What a great lesson! This was very relevant for me as I am naturally using a lot of lateral movement forward and producing good launch conditions. My concern is that not only is my lower body and mass moving forward, my head is also moving forward over the ball quite a bit (lack of side tilt?). I have been working on keeping my head more behind the ball. Do you have any comments on the risks of excessive lateral head movement with this mass shift to lead side?
Love the stance width info. How tall is this student? I’m 6’4” and with a shoulder width looking stance center foot to center foot is 18”. Always been told narrower stance to “rotate better”, or “you’ll have a hard time getting pressure to your left side the wider the stance”. 20-22” feels so much better for a 7 iron, and honestly not much narrower for a wedge.
I’d suggest you go wider
Must be working. The student just finished top 3 at Western Junior.
Learned a lot from video. Thanks
Glad it helped!
Good stuff Cam. A tip to hit it low play Gerringong GC south coast of Wollongong. "The only course where every hole feels like your into the wind" 🤣🤣🤣
Haha yes indeed
Great video, thanks for sharing. Quick question, when you explained your mass shifting from left to right, then shifting back to the left and then ultimately back to the right for the driver, will that change the arc of the swing? Or am I misinterpreting?
Yes but the arc of the swing is changing in many ways in addition to this
Getting shaft lean requires soo many other pieces to fit it’s basically a new swing for most people. Low and left release, shallowing, hip clearing, pelvic drop, higher rotation, and squeaky clean sequencing in the transition. You will not swing the club the same ever again!
Thanks for the comment. While some of this is true most can achieve a lower dynamic loft without much effort
I swing my seven iron around 98-101 mph and my peak height is 140-150 feet in the air with around 6500 spin. Personally I think that height is too much but track man says it’s in the optimal window. For reference I play the Mizuno 923 Tours with KBS 130 gram C-Taper shafts. I know it’s broad but I would love your thought on if that height needs to be dropped down.
That’s super fast. Well done. It’s also super high and low spin. The combination of these two makes it ok tho.
How would a player go about getting better at the problem solving you went through. Student came in intuitively knowing ball was launching too high, but didn’t have the answer or solution. How does a player get better at solving for a problem, in a solo practice session or when working on their game on their own?
By seeking knowledge from a reputable source then learning to collect clues in the feedback of a swing/shot and running their own diagnostics given the new knowledge of cause/correlation and effect.
Great content. Thanks for sharing. Do you give lessons to regular guys like us?
Sure do
I live in Houston. How hard would it be to get a lesson with you. I need someone with great eyes to help me. Thanks.
@@CameronMcCormickGolfI live in Houston. How hard would it be to come and get a lesson?
Towards the end of the session, I noticed you used foot spray for impact location when hitting driver and not the impact location feature in Trackman. Is the Trackman impact location data not accurate enough?
No it’s not unfortunately
Switched from foot spray to a chalk bag that rock climbers use, never looked back. Massively cheaper, lasts forever.
Hmmm nice thought. Will check it out
In their hearts of hearts nobody but in reality a lot of people lol
Thanks for watching
Any info on working with younger golfers. My daughter is nearly 10 and is starting to play decent golf.
Get her some good coaching
Can you please explain in a little more detail the GT comment and what that meant? Thank you.
It was a reference to turning into his right hip.
Is he a messiah or a super coach? Why not both, with a dash of intergalactic smoothie maker? This chap's knowledge clearly transcends the boundaries of space, time, and proper gym etiquette. Perhaps he's downloaded the entire internet into his left elbow, or maybe he's just really good at looking wise while doing jumping jacks.
Not sure but unlikely any of these
CZcams commenters must have forgotten that Dad is likely the first person to introduce the kid to the game and a proxy through which he learned his very first swing.
Yea indeed!
Can I also lower launch angle with a lower swing speed of 75 mph
Yes for sure. In fact at lower swing speed the lower launch is easier to achieve
what did he spray on his clubs? checking contacts?
Dr scholls foot spray
How do I get a hold of you for a lesson?
Email cameron@altusperformance.com
The high 5 at the end needs work 😳
I’ll review it and get to work
I’d like to bring my son for lesson. Do you have opened slot?
Yes thanks
Haha had a bet with myself on how quick helicopter dad would say something.
Parents are the greatest of assets to a kids development
"60 shots an hour into the session" shows that it is all about quality not quantity!
Indeed
It has to be very annoying having parent interrupt . While giving a lesson.
Especially since most at this level are richrich....they THINK they can.
Not at all they often have great questions and offer observations from competing that are immensely valuable
@@CameronMcCormickGolf lol 😂 okay . I understand they pay you.
I don’t see how he interrupted and secondly his invested into his son and spends more time with him
, soo him confirming things etc to better understand to help his son outside of being in a lesson setting ..
I deadset couldnt disagree more with this statement or comment
Disagree. I thought he did well. Absolutely reasonable.
Don't listen to dad...ever.
This is incorrect
Some bullshit language in this video
Happy to have you comment but do you really need to use that language?
What language in particular?
I’d like to bring my son for lesson. Do you have opened slot?
Sure do. Email info@altusperformance.com
