    Great lesson. Tiger and his coaches always talk about the 9 windows method. I love hitting knockdowns. You're right, my knockdown 6 can be longer than my stock 6.

    A real golf lesson. This is the biggest problem with golf coaching, too many coaches don't know what a great lesson looks like.

    Love the lessons with Juniors, as a parent of a decent 13-year-old boy, the main feel for my son that has improved the full swing, is lead shoulder to lead foot in early transition, It has cleaned up ,path ,angle of attack and so much more ,great video

    That, was very cool to watch and listen to, and of course, to see the outcome. outstanding young man, Cameron, your knowledge and understanding of how the body can produce different outcomes is incredible. I'm a pretty smart guy, and I understand all the concepts that were talked about, but to actually make it happen is a beautiful thing to watch.Whats that very old saying, Actions speak louder than words, to be a Great teacher knowledge brings confidence, but to make it all come together so the student can perform, is just outstanding, very happy for that young man.Thanks guys, good luck in the regionals.

  • @JeffVandeVorst
    @JeffVandeVorst Před 23 dny

    Interesting that you encouraged some lateral movement to the lead side. I had a coach that completely discouranged that (called it body checking the ball). However, when I allow myself some lateral movement towards the target my launch angles and distance are way better. Your video explains why!!! Thanks

  • @Odnal121
    @Odnal121 Před 9 dny

    What a great lesson! This was very relevant for me as I am naturally using a lot of lateral movement forward and producing good launch conditions. My concern is that not only is my lower body and mass moving forward, my head is also moving forward over the ball quite a bit (lack of side tilt?). I have been working on keeping my head more behind the ball. Do you have any comments on the risks of excessive lateral head movement with this mass shift to lead side?

  • @l33tLX
    @l33tLX Před 26 dny +1

    Love the stance width info. How tall is this student? I’m 6’4” and with a shoulder width looking stance center foot to center foot is 18”. Always been told narrower stance to “rotate better”, or “you’ll have a hard time getting pressure to your left side the wider the stance”. 20-22” feels so much better for a 7 iron, and honestly not much narrower for a wedge.

    Great video, thanks for sharing. Quick question, when you explained your mass shifting from left to right, then shifting back to the left and then ultimately back to the right for the driver, will that change the arc of the swing? Or am I misinterpreting?

    • @CameronMcCormickGolf
      @CameronMcCormickGolf  Před měsícem

      Yes but the arc of the swing is changing in many ways in addition to this

  • @tjcurran6041
    @tjcurran6041 Před měsícem

    Getting shaft lean requires soo many other pieces to fit it’s basically a new swing for most people. Low and left release, shallowing, hip clearing, pelvic drop, higher rotation, and squeaky clean sequencing in the transition. You will not swing the club the same ever again!

    I swing my seven iron around 98-101 mph and my peak height is 140-150 feet in the air with around 6500 spin. Personally I think that height is too much but track man says it’s in the optimal window. For reference I play the Mizuno 923 Tours with KBS 130 gram C-Taper shafts. I know it’s broad but I would love your thought on if that height needs to be dropped down.

    • @CameronMcCormickGolf
      @CameronMcCormickGolf  Před měsícem

      That’s super fast. Well done. It’s also super high and low spin. The combination of these two makes it ok tho.

    How would a player go about getting better at the problem solving you went through. Student came in intuitively knowing ball was launching too high, but didn’t have the answer or solution. How does a player get better at solving for a problem, in a solo practice session or when working on their game on their own?

    • @CameronMcCormickGolf
      @CameronMcCormickGolf  Před měsícem +1

      By seeking knowledge from a reputable source then learning to collect clues in the feedback of a swing/shot and running their own diagnostics given the new knowledge of cause/correlation and effect.

Perhaps he's downloaded the entire internet into his left elbow, or maybe he's just really good at looking wise while doing jumping jacks.
