- "Dancing Machine" came about after the co-writer Hal Davis met a woman who liked to drink as much as he did and liked to dance even more. "She danced to everything, even jumping up on my desk and I said 'she's a dancing machine' to co writer Don Fletcher" relates Hal and then Don said "Hey man that's the title." Davis went in the studio with Dean Parks (guitar), Joe Sample (keyboards) and drummer James Gadson, who put that awesomely booming kickdrum down. Michael Jackson got wind of the song and felt it was important enough to record and to distinguish them from the teeny bopper pop genre they had been recording into a more adult oriented direction (disco). It first appeared on their 1973 LP "Get It Together" and featured all of the space age sounds you hear on this remix. You can also hear the female robot voice intoning something along the lines of "turning you on". The song was edited for release on the "Dancing Machine" LP. I used the 1973 version as it was rougher sounding and had more to work with to make an extended version. Hope you like!

These brothers were beyond special! The only ones qualified to back up MJ . I always felt that as a group they were as special as Michael was a solo artist.
There will never be another Jackson 5!
Disco was one of the best things to come out of the 70's. Disco needs to make a come back.
Disco as we knew it is dead .
Disco never died. Disco is Electronic Dance Music and the Father is Giorgio Moroder.
its all around
Disco doesn’t need to comeback - it never died.
It did bring people together to go out and have fun.
Disco should make a comeback, Disco had some awesome songs !
Whoever the bass player is he earned his pay!!!
What I like about this song is that you hear both of the young Michael and adult Michael. Get it Together is another song hear this too.
his "yeah" sounds like an adult and on GIT the way he says "Girl" is adult Mike. Its quite a treat those. hallelujah day is another song to hear the transition
Wow.
The memories flooding in.
1973. I was 12 years old friends.
The shit I had gone through that age and this song was a part of the growing up music ever heard on a victrola radio station and am and fm
Later you Seniors..
I was a dancin’ machine. Graduated from college in 73.
73...Jackson 5, O'Jays, The 3 Degrees....SEEN THEM..in Chicago!! I was 7, I will never forget it!! Great music, great days! RIP Michael.🙏❤️ #thebestever I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL DJ!!♥️👏👏👏

the baddest group ever and Michael Jackson one of a kind whole family was very Talent rest in peace Michael miss you man
I am just thinking back at how creative this amazing song is. I was only 16 when the album version was released to the general public. I can vividly remember how my generation loved this song, tremendously. I adore this song, too! This song stimulates the imagination, because of the creation of female robots in this time of today. A time being revolutionized with advancements of serious robotics. All of the writers who composed this classic, are light years ahead of the time of 1973. Thank you, You Tube, for this brilliant (extended) version for this generation!
What a classic song to get up and dance to I'm ready to shake my groove thang!!!!
Doesn’t get much better than this!! The harmony: tight, Tito singing the bass line vocal really rounds out their sound! Marlon and Jermaine filling up the middle and Jackie’s smooth first tenor always on point... and Michael!
This song was everything back in the day. Doing the robot right now.
NOW THIS IS WHAT I CALLED GREAT
AND TRULY AMAZING ENTERTAINMENT
W/ EXCELLENTQUALITY MUSIC
TO ENJOY FOR A LIFETIME.
1973 The Year of Monster Hits..The Tracks that endure the test of time..and fill the airwaves forever..This one Definitely Resonates with me.

Tony Williams I agree 🔥🔥 I love ❤️ this extension mix...CLASSIC ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I was 7 years old when this song came out. Every time it got played on WABC-AM in New York, I would lose my fucking mind...same thing with Kool & The Gang's "Jungle Boogie". I'm about to turn 56 next month, but when I hear this...I'm 7 all over again. WHEEEE!
Jackson 5 rules!
Absolutely love the baseline such great harmonies and smooth transitions simple but genius
I love this song from the Jackson 5 even the robot dance that Michael do.
She Knows What She Doing!!!
She Super Bad Now!!!
She's Geared To Really Blow Your Mind!!
Love that funky ass guitar riff.
Awesome .👍
Love the whole family God bless them all
“She’s super bad now.” I LOVE how Mike says that! Lol
Funkiest piece and just funky as real as funky still is...
Breath, smile and move your bones with love
Dance floor and humility will do the rest...
✌️🙏
this mix is so good it's hard to put into words the trip it takes me on...
Saw the J5 in Chicago in '73 when they were working on a Vegas style act as per instructions from Barry Gordy. Little Janet was there doing her Mae West act. Very strange. But the last song was Dancing Machine when they went back to the slick Jackson 5 song presentation everybody wanted to see. Good times.
With this song 😘 I am dancing machine 👌👌I like it thanks 😍 😍
This 2020and still sounds good I remember the first time I saw him do the robot .....I was all in from that day.... 🔥🔥 🔥❤️🔥 ❤️🔥 ❤️🔥 ❤️🔥 ❤️🔥 ❤️🔥 ❤️🔥 ❤️
This really is purrfection. I always thought the original version was too short. Thanks for the mix!
is no a mix look in the album get it togheter
Calli it's a Disco version, a Disco version of anything is always longer, the old days they wanted you out there dancing your ass off so when you came off the dance floor you drank like a fish lol I swear I believe why those versions always longer, have a great day Calli
The background rhythm guitar is the star!
This is soo MJ style... who knew back then that this young kiddo would go that far... !!!

This is one of the first crossover Disco hits from traditional R&B music groups and recorded in 1973 during the early days of Disco. Jackson Five crossed over and it was a big hit on all NYC Disco Dance floors under the strobe lights. Thanks for the Memories DJ DiscoCat. Happy Holidays!

The first records I paid for, I purchased at Montgomery Ward's 1974 --75 for 89 cents can you believe it, I also paid for Earth wind & fire shinning star, I can hear the baritone. In dancing machine. Only to hear a baritone being played on you tube live by George Clinton Parliament Funkadelic at a live concert iin Japan in 2002 P-FUNK was playing knee deep with the baritone being played in the background of the song and it was awesome !
