  • Here we show you how easy it is to make your own great tasting Cabernet Sauvignon wine, just like you buy in a supermarket.
Did you know that a lot of wine you buy in supermarkets is brewed in the UK using imported concentrated grape juice? Well this wine kit uses the same techniques just on a smaller scale, so you get the same high quality results.
We take you through everything you need and the process from pouring to bottling so that at the end, you will have made a fantastic wine.
The California Connoisseur wine kits have now beer superseded and replaced with the new brand On The House Wine Kits - www.brewbitz.c.... These are made in a very similar way, but the method the grape juice is concentrated has been improved and this has resulted in a better finished wine.

Thanks for this video! Very helpful. I have made two batches of Vinters Best kits and they did not turn out very well. Their instructions did not include a few of the steps you mention in this video.

hi there, Im fairly new to making wine and really enjoying it so far, I have a cabernet merlot kit from CC but have a query. my most recent batch I made had a problem. the first bottle I opened was lovely, good smell, lovely taste. 2 days later, popped another bottle but the smell was awful! not the same taste and every bottle since has been the same. I want to find out what's gone wrong before I make this premium kit as I don't want to waste any of it

Hi Jack, how many bottles have you opened? Sounds like there's something going on in your bottles to cause this nasty smell / taste. Did you sterilise your bottles thoroughly before bottling? If the first bottle was fine it sounds like during those extra 2 days some bug or bacteria has affected the wine causing it to go bad. Thanks.

+Brewbitz Homebrew Shop I'm starting to think it may be a steriliser problem, it smells quite sulphur like and I'm thinking it could be because j didn't rinse the bottles, I'm getting some non rinse sanitiser and will hopefully fix it

Sounds like you may have found your problem. Just make sure everything is sterilised really well! Watch our video on sterilisation techniques ->

diddydavid67 superb. In fact, we’ve had bottles that are years old. And they only get better.

Just curious, all the sterilization you use and you touch everything bare handed and mouth bacteria on the hose? Very good video, a little hard to understand some words.

+mymorningstar777 Clean hands shouldn't interfere with the brewing process!

Hi I have a the same kit I have just finished the first 7days but it's already at .995 not 1.010 why is what should I do. Thanks

christopher egan hi. Fermentation can take less than the 7 days for the yeast to eat the sugar. Your temp may have been above 20°C which will speed up the fermentation.
Continue as per the instructions as the yeast will still be active and although the sugar has gone, they yeast will still consume other compounds in the wine to improve the flavour.
