This was very informative, thank you. Couple of questions:
1. While filling the application, I had someone who invited me. Since the appointments were not available at the time, the event has now expired, how should I approach the documentation and how do I update it.
2. I will now travel as a tourist for leisure without the invitation, it is possible to go ahead with the same?
3. How do I prepare for the interviews in this case
Hello Aarushi,
1. Not sure what you want to change in documentation but if it is something very important then you may have to fill new DS160 form & update that new application number on appointment portal.
2. Yes you can travel as a tourist with no invitation. As I said in the video, show strong ties with your home country & good bank balance to prove that you can take care of all the expenses.
3. There is no different preparation for a tourist, just be clear & truthful.

1)I got slot for my parents , can I only change interview appointment , I don't want to change biometric , because when we reschedule if starts from VAC appointment. Is that possible?
2)What if I can the appoint , do I have to pay again or search for slot once again?
Hello sir, thank you for watching the video. To answer your question, frankly speaking I have never been in this situation but after some research this is what I found -
Either you change both the appointments or change the interview appointment date after biometric appointment is done (after 24hrs)
You can send this query to them or raise this question on telegram group to find a better solution

Also, it all depends on date availability.
You are allowed to cancel or reschedule your appointment multiple times (3-4). On the last attempt it will pop up a warning that this is the last time you can reschedule/cancel the appointment.

With reference to subject matter regarding arrangement of Gujarati translator at the time of US visa interview in Mumbai.
My humble question is , can I take the translator even I can speak English nicely?
Main reason is some times I can't properly understand the American accent.

My Mom's visa was rejected twice in Hyderabad and given 214(b). My question is while filing DS-160 in the primary occupation field, can we select "other" and mention her work details as she is not employed by any but works for a non-profit local women welfare where she is a group leader and does all the work. Also do you know any immigration lawyer who can help. Thanks

The 214(b) letter say:
Dear Applicant,
This is to inform you that you have been found ineligible for a nonimmigrant visa under Section 214(b) of the
U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act, A denial under Section 214(b) means that you were not able to demonstrate that your intended activities in the United States would be consistent with the classification of the nonimmigrant visa for which you applied.
While nonimmigrant visa classifications each have their own unique requirements, one requirement shared by many of the nonimmigrant visa categories is for the applicant to demonstrate that he/she has a residence in a foreign country which he/she has no intention of abandoning. Applicants usually meet this requirement by demonstrating that they have strong ties overseas that indicate that they will return to a foreign country after a temporary visit to the United States. Such ties include professional, work, school, family, or social links to a foreign country. You have not demonstrated that you have the ties that will compel you to return to your home country after your travel to the United States.
Today's decision cannot be appealed. However, you may reapply at any time. If you decide to reapply, you must submit a new application form and photo, pay the visa application fee again, and make a new appointment to be interviewed by a consular officer. If you choose to reapply, you should be prepared to provide information that was not presented in your original application, or to demonstrate that your circumstances have changed since that application.
It also says she can apply again but the problem is they aren’t asking any documents to prove that she will return back. She has all the documents like property documents, tax documents etc.
If we are traveling together there will be one window and one visa officer I presume

Yes! I would recommend providing 3 months bank statements. There’s no balance amount mentioned anywhere but I would consider their flight tickets, stay & trip cost during that itinerary. Also, make sure to add documents to show their strong ties with the home country.
