Thanks for sharing. I've stopped by Pancake Bay and Superior Park a couple times over the years, and after my last trip down the 17, it has since become my new dream to actually camp out up there. I may start out small and tent it, but I'd eventually like to save up for a half decent little travel trailer, to make it a yearly trip. I'd also love to explore the shores of Superior west of Marathon to Thunder Bay. I'm really looking forward to it all.
Hi Jeff thanks for stopping by my channel! We defiantly love northern Ontario we are thinking of heading back there this summer. We haven't been up to Marathon or Thunder Bay with the trailer yet but it's not out of the question.
Can you tell us what site you had. We are looking for a site with electric close to the water so we can see Lake Superior and it's sun sets. Let me know please, hopefully it's close to washrooms and showers. Thank you
Pancake is a beautiful park with a gorgeous beach on the world's greatest lake. And it's a handy stop on the way to Lake Superior Park, which might be the nicest park in Ontario. But what was with that hiking trail at the end of the video? Great walk if you're craving a broken ankle. Good, informative video. Thanks.
Thanks for watching Ian! To answer your question I would pick Pancake Bay it’s a great park we have been to several times. Just keep in mind that you do hear highway traffic at the park, just something to keep in mind.
Great Park!! I felt like I was sleeping in a ditch..the highway was very noisy.Next time we will be in the non-electric sites 400-477 with our 17' trailer
@@colleenworobess Hi Colleen we stayed at site #112 great site and close to the water/beach. The dog's had no issues at all we broke the trip up into two days as we where on holiday's so we took our time. Depending where your driving from you should be able to find lots of places to stop for your dog.
Thanks yes it has been a struggle so far every morning at 7 am we spin the wheel and see what happens be lucky enough to get arrowhead, mikasew and halfway lake so far but usually the 3 or 4th choice of sites
@Matt DeWitt Thanks for watching! and we stayed on site 112 and we had electricity and a great view of Lake Superior. Any other questions feel free to ask.
Thanks for watching Steve. I agree the audio is not the best in the video, my first year recording back then. Since then I have upgraded my audio especially this year. We are heading back to Pancake Bay this summer.
Hi Heather and Anthony, we were there last summer , just hung out there for a couple of hours , so beautiful, aunt Liz 💝
I hear such great things about Pancake bay...I'm adding it to my bucket list
@Lynn Leqault Pancake Bay is definitely one of our favourite parks! We have been there 4 times, if you can get a site near the water it’s the best.
That looked like a great trail so pretty. That river is beautiful.
Thanks for watching! That is one of our favourite hikes and places to camp. We are heading back up there this summer.
Lovely video. Last time I was at Pancake Bay was 48 years ago when I was 10. Even then I knew how beautiful it was.
Pancake Bay is amazing we definitely love going there. Long drive for us but well worth it.

THX for the videos. If you had to choose would you pick Pancake Bay or Lake Superior park.

@Dean I agree the highway is noisy but the park and area make up for it. Thanks for watching!
Question: when you hike trails, do you carry anything in case meeting up with a bear?
Yes I will carry bear spray in my pack!!
So funny, we had same site in 2017, best site in whole campground eh!
Yes this site was great we have been to Pancake Bay 3 times, one of my favourite parks.
@@RubberMeetsTheRoad do you mind saying which site it is? Also, how were the dogs on such a long trip?
I seriously want to go, but I'm worried the long trip will be too much for our senior Beagle.
