About Equal Rights:
Equal Rights brought together Peter Tosh's dedications to the revolutionary movements growing in Africa, and the mysticism and wonders of his personal growth as a prophet, poet, preacher and world-class musical trailblazer. The album included a number of songs that became human rights anthems over the next two decades: Get Up, Stand Up, Downpressor Man, African, Apartheid, and the title tune.

Lyrics:
Everyone is crying out for peace, yes
None is crying out for justice
Everyone is crying out for peace, yes
None is crying out for justice
I don't want no peace
I need equal rights and justice
I need equal rights and justice
I need equal rights and justice
Got to get it, equal rights and justice - Hudba
"Everyone wants to go to heaven but nobody wants to die". I use this quote all the time.
Even Jesus was not very sure. Great lyrics
True
1:27-1:37 It is because in the back of their minds they know there is none! Or hospitals would not exist...
To quote Peter "rich man's heaven more man's hell" that is all earth is!
Pues ya laquesea que ustede digan
Psalm 12 Psalm 🙏 101
Growing up in apartheid South Africa this album was our daily bread
And ours in the US during your struggle.
Who is listening 2023 the World may not have the same struggles as back then when this song was released. But the struggle continues. What a powerful song.
Hi my friend i will like to listen to that music
the srtuggles have changed their shape, but they are still the same and are still present
The struggles have gotten worse, if anything. Racism is pretty much at an all time high globally. Its really unfortunate. But thankfully there'll always be great music to fight against it!
Easy
I am listening in 2023. Bless
Unapologetic, African and Rebellious and Conscious....He is my Idol and my motivation
This album came out in my first year of High School in 1977, am now 55 year old greying Australian and still love this album featuring five of the original Wailers without Bob Marley, Bunny on it too. JAH BLESS

What a music sir ! So much in lovs with this prophet
Big up from Kingston Jamaica
Thanks !
Equal rights and no more conflict. Thank you Peter Tosh. You are alive in our hearts forever. Amen.♥️➕☮️=💰
A revolutionary song for the African people specifically suitable to the current political climate in Nigeria.
The seventies were defining moments for the world and Jamaican Reggae superstars like Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Burning Spear, U Roy etc were the standard flagbearers that defined the adolescent philosophy of that beautiful time.
Social Justice, equity and equality, greater say in society and busting confidence in oneself.
We were misunderstood by our parents, our senior siblings and later our early employers
We are now in our 60s but have been largely shaped by that philosophy which we have carried to date.
I do not know why Jamaica does not produce these types anymore.
I was 13 when my Mother sent me this record from Mozambique, in fact bought in South África, when it was just release! Who would imagine that?!! Im much older now but sometimes i feel like listenning to it. So good. Such a groove!. Rip my old friend Peter Tosh!
Equal Rights for Us or else 🔥
Mr tosh is like the old wine that get always better with time.i am a really die hard fan of Bob but when i need guidance and motivation i always turns to him and this has been going on for a long long time.his music are like medicine once u get into him you are done.
So true
Baba Peter Tosh phenomenal.
Baba Peter Tosh isn’t only a reggae singer and musician but a Pan African warrior leader and hero.
Baba Peter Tosh” No matter where you come from as long as you’re a black man you’re an African”.
He sang here also about Palestine.
starting off 2021 and we're still listening to this great track
As a big Marley fan, I can appreciate the major differences between these two reggae legends. Bob put his music to uplifting people and being happy; Peter put reggae in the service of social justice. A place for both!
Able.PETER TOSH healed people minds and use very excited 😊😆 and happy as well

for me,Peter Tosh is simply the greatest...
Anyone, July 7th 2024?
Peter Tosh and Johnny Nash became a consolation for me during the Great depression in 2020.
The Bass line is incredible
I was lucky enough to watch Tosh live in Swaziland in 1983
Even he is not with us i still have great respect for him .his heart was in Africa
Always felt Peter Tosh does not get the recognition he truly deserves. His singing is majestic. His lyrics are thought provoking in terms of the messages conveyed. The individual elements of the Wailers in terms of Peter, Bunny and Bob demonstrate their strengths, whether together or on their own. The musicianship it is of the highest quality too.
I felt you . Went to Jamaica just to go to his recently opened museum , was wondering around looking for the address , ask some of the youths walking by if they knew where it was , no one gave me a single clue of the museum location, it’s like they don’t care or didn’t even know who peter Tosh was ...it was so sad , this guy is a Jamaican icon and you don’t know your roots and history . I was upset but finally found the place
Peter is my man; R.i.P my brother.
Wat some gud mssges from e big prophet
Peter Tosh in my opinion was a pioneer in words of music and yes he didn't get the recognition he truly deserved, his songs and lyrics are so relevant to today's happenings.
He is greater than a lot of the greats.
One of the all time bests. Love from Nobekaw, Ghana 🇬🇭
Who is listening 2023 the World may not have the same struggles as back then when this song was released. But the struggle continues. What a powerful song.💖💖💖💖
Mr Peter Tosh sang his truth, he spoke his mind freely.
May your legacy contine on! Much love to those who were overlooked.💜
These songs touches my heart everytime love it.
Peter Tosh alongside Bob Marley n Bunny Wailer sang the truth and the music has strong messages. These are true legends. I agree with my friend 110 percent.

Beautiful music. Lyrics worth adhering to. I love Peter Tosh, and Bob Marley.
Peter gosh is the greatest musician from out of my island Jamaica. I say that non apologetically. Greatest ever.
Peter Tosh began my search for morals as a homeless 'mixed-race' teen in the UK such a long time ago now. Today I still search for morals, but realise he gave me something equally important...self worth, love, and peace from within...I am so glad and humbled that human beings like Peter Tosh have, and do live...like fire that refuses to go out, or a light to guide us all...thank you Peter, you mean the world to me.
In my opinion there where/are 3 of the best artists and i’m a fan of their music since the 60’s, they are Peter Tosh, Bob Marley and Jimmy Cliff
@@aaronsmith5079 👊🏽💯
Peter Tosh was one of the greatest humans this little blue Island in an ocean of vacuum called Earth has produced.
You underestimate him.
I agree ❤

His words are so relevant today, 2020.

Precisely correct.Too we must have equal opportunities. Thanks Mr president of reggae.May you rest well in your endless sleepiness.
Indeed
I'm grateful, Peter Tosh. You will always be alive in our hearts. Indeed. ♥
If you Google the production details of this 1977 album you might be surprised to learn that Peter Tosh asked several of THE WAILERS to play on this album. I've always known this was Peter's best album, 1. because it is righteous, and 2. The music is tight, so perfect from the clavinet and drumming by Aston Barrett - And REST IN PEACE, BUNNY WAILER puts in an aopearance, authentic ONE DROP DRUMMING
The drummer in this recording was Santa Davis, bot Aston Barrett.
Let the truth be told Tosh the philosopher and straight talker
The first time I heard Peter tosh song was in 2004 in my uncle's apartment in Lagos, since then I have been a fan of his music. RIP to Peter Tosh, you were a prophet that talked about a lot of issues in your music which are still relevant till today.
I have been listening to PETER TOSH lcon music for over fory years and still do
@@glendoncodling1012 that's good. I am just in my early 30s.
One of my all time favs alongside Judy Mowatt ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾 been listening to these great artists and political shakers and movers since I was a young kid - part of my older siblings reggae collection
Have been always listening to reggae songs from Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Senzo, Lucky Philip Dube, Culture, Burning Spear and many more but Peter Tosh and Bob Marley are very unique. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇬🇭🇬🇭❤💛💚😔
Music that will be sound for ever
This song is appropriate for the times we’re in. We need equal rights and Justice
I respect the man, and I respect his music.
I miss such singers there songs will make meaning even when I am dead.
Why don't we have singers like this anymore?.
Vincent TOSH is only one.
Impossible, the struggle is different now, people are complaining about small thing, now. I can't be on my phone at work, I have to wear a mask to prevent covid, etc ect etc Lol PEACE 7
FULL OF LOVE I LOVE HIS MESSAGES FROM THE PAST AND RELEVANT TODAY

PALESTINIANS ARE FIGHTING FOR IT RIGHT NOW...RESPECT
I agree. You know why? I can say this in not too many words- Their land was stolen from the zionist Isreal Government, period.
❤ equal rights and justice for the Palestinians
End times are here. Jews would come back to Israel and return to their city of Jerusalem. It was their nation before anyone elses if you really think about it. But that is neither here or there. Get right with the most high. We have been counting down since 1967.
@@rhuttrho888 For a group of people to use their selfish religious beliefs and doctrines to discriminate and disadvantage other people. is nothing but injustice.
Peter Tosh was ahead of his time
Beautiful song that played major role to the release of the liberation movements in SA.......Peter Tosh was a real deal, a Prophet.....pity still no Justice. Rise in Power Tosh

Yhat's why they call it ,CONSCIOUS
Bob Marley was great no doubt, however his music made you want to get up and dance or be happy, but I've always been a Peter Tosh fan because his music made me sit up and think about a world that I lived in with no peace and justice in our communities(black)and his music made you look within to see where you stood in this oppressive world, are you on the top end or the bottom. Tosh's music is definitely for all ages and era's especially the one that's fell on us lately(George Floyd's death)!!!
Isn't it ironic with what Peter Tosh stood for those days and how relevant it is today cause he was killed by the hands of the police.
I am from the Deomocratic Républicain of Congo. I feel everyday bas for the shot of PT who pleaded for Africains right. Damn Leppo who killed his master shall ne paying to the former such crime against humanity.
@Mr Lex great insight. Thank you kindly. I did not know that.
I do not agree with you, I think he is great to; however, Bob Marley music is not for dancing pay attention to the lyrics, a lot of his song are like profectic scriptures for this time.
@@maureensimpson6309 making a correction to your post; Peter Tosh (and a friend) died in Jamaica, on his way to the hospital, as a result of gun shot wounds suffered during a home robbery. A warrior and a Prince gone way too soon, but his heart/music lives on.
One of the greatest musicians. RIP
I don't want no peace
I need equal rights

Thank you brother Peter tosh and may rest in peace for not forgetting the Palestinians in this song for the fight for equal rights and justice . Sure that is what the Palestinians are struggling for .
Palestine will be free one day. Never let 'em kill your desire for equal rights and justice.
It is not only in Palestine. Injustice and unequal rights are systematically being practiced in Nigeria through the systematic Fulanisation and Islamisation of the whole Nigeria by the fulanis.
