The one inch punch was made famous by Bruce Lee. It's a powerful close ranged punch from 1 inch away. The main difference between the one inch punch and the iron fist punch is the travel distance. A normal punch is 6-12 inches away from the target. Bruce Lee was able to knock down opponents twice his size with his 1 inch punch.

Fr learned it on the spot
There is nothing like inner chakra
That is his body strength and his practice
The one-inch punch is a great demonstration that the wind-up on a punch doesn't matter, it's the follow-through that really makes the difference.
Well you can definitely punch way harder with more distance. Its just basic physics. With a 1 inch punch, it is very difficult to break that board because you have no distance to accelerate your hand to a speed that breaks the board. I think I could probably break it if i brought my hand back, but with an actual 1 inch punch no way.
It shows the opposite
"wind-up doesnt matter ' HUHHHHH
@@thecalculatedcreativecoder1428The point is you should always push with force on impact of a punch. Not just slap it like people here did.

Wowh

The fact he broke the red one with an actual 1 inch punch đł
Yeah
It's all about the hips. Hips, and Torso strength in most punches provide the majority of the power.
The shorter the punch, and the more torque applied to the movement increases the damage to the area the fist hits.
It's why Boxers love getting in short jaw punches. Because a quick short, and effective punch knocks them out. While a standard sidejab, they may stay conscious, and on the feet. While you wasted a lot of energy on an overswing, or a blocked hit.
It's how I was able to knock out a trained fighter not being trained at all myself. The power of the internet. A simple 3 inch jab to the liver. Put them in so much pain they had to back off, or risk death.
A david versus Goliath situation. Rogue versus Fighter. The agile versus the brute.

Martial artist here - the 1 inch punch is preformed by your cross body movement. You donât strike using your arm, you straighten your arm out like a battering ram and use your back hip/leg to turn into it and strike through the board quickly.
2nd dan in karate this person is completely correct.
Bro is the mcđ
@Hoon Turd we don't train for it but the idea is the same roughly for generating power and this is 12 years of experience
It is called inertia and people don't understand that. That distance between your fist and wood doesn't matter
F=ma
Mass is a weak factor since you only have 1 inch to build momentum
You need acceleration.
So, in short, your clenched fist needs to move instantaneously.

Blue shirt curly hair was definitely the one with the best tequnique. They rest pulled back a bit
The key to the technique is the pull back. The blue shirt just threw his weight forward. That's fine and can work but isn't the technique. Proper one inch punch (which Bruce Lee couldn't even do, despite being famous for it) has no obvious weight transfer. You should be able to throw it with a book on your head and not shift the book.
@@LiShuBen But isnât the tequnique in the name? One inch punch which is around about your finger length.
@@chowmiander1277 that's a nickname made up by westerners. The original name for this type of strike in Chinese martial arts is cunjin. Cunjin can technically be applied to any technique, kick, punch, elbow, etc.
@@LiShuBen really!! I had no idea?? Thanks for informing me though (: đđŒ
The one inch punch power comes from the flexation of the entire body like a whip and rotation of the hips. It is meant to demonstrate that the real power of strikes comes from that rotation and the flow of energy from our feet.
You do not have to draw back at all. The distance is from the finger tips, to the knuckles and you squeeze the fist on the way there. There is no pulling back.
Last guy be like "I'm built different" đ
That last guy did it and did it the right way

as someone who practiced martial arts for 5 and a half years when I was a teenager, lemme tell you a secret....YOU PUNCH THROUGH THE DAMN BOARD! If you stop just before you hit it, you hurt more and probably break yourself. But if you punch through it with your two big knuckles, it doesn't hurt as much if at all. Also moving your hips as you're punching helps you out even more. #TheMoreYouKnow
