@Davey Smith That's insultingly low, he can sell it on the aftermarket for parts to parts and still have more 400 bucks and plus some trade stuff and store experience than your offer
the vfr started in the 80s, was rushed into production for competition, its wheels wobbled, it ate its own cams due to head oiling direct from the clutch, had a flat plane crank and a wobbly frame, murderous air forks that were linked to the brakes -drank fuel like an airliner yet was one of the greatest sounding bikes ever made. shared its engine with the magna but had that flat plane crank. the good ones came out in the nineties, different and saner firing order on the v4 , one of the best bikes ever made, they go on forever...
The 999r was almost as fast as the DesmosediciRR and they came out at the same time. It is still cheaper than what it cost back then, which was around 40k, and it has been greatly updated. Definitely not for everyone but it is worth every penny.
Bus is no sport bike, great straight li one drag type bike but that fat heavy bike corners like a full on tourer any real sportbike eats it alive on a road with curves. You want bad ass kawasaki h2
Hey Yammie Noob, happy New Year and great to finally see you with the 'It came from Craigslist' series. Love your content and humorous moderation!!! Many greetings from Bangkok/Thailand
Portland motorcycle listings are totally INSANE. You see one bike advertised for 1K + more than another listing of the exact same bike ALL the time. People must think that YOU should be paying for how much THEY loved their bikes before they decided they had to sell them Totally clueless. No way, pal. The bike is worth what the bike is worth, not what your dreams are worth to you... If you don't want to sell the bike, them don't waste your time writing a love letter to your rod on Craigslist!
I actually got my 2008 M109R for 1k with title and all. Guy even delivered it an hour away.Just needed paint,a rear wheel, and back brakes!I absolutely love this bike.
If you think that 95 katana (suziki gsx750f sport touring motorcycle) looks crusty you should really see mine😁, it doesn't have rusty rotors but it has no fairings, a crusty exhaust and garbage paint, you'd love it, gotta start somewhere though right, and I'm bringing it back from the dead
Gonna comment on the triumph sprint ST, my dad owns a blue one that he’s had from new since 1998 and he absolutely trashed it back in 2019 after riding it through a British winter, me and him have spent the last year completely restoring the bike, everything vapour blasted and powder coated to factory fresh condition, only things we didn’t touch were the fairings, the frame and the engine, absolutely beautiful bike and I used to to pass my full A class bike license last year and I loved it
I was seriously hoping you'd found, and reviewed the bike I just bought from Portland. It's a 1980 Kawasaki KZ440 D1 LTD. It's absolutely gorgeous, and in fantastic condition given its 40 yr old age. Listing was up until yesterday. In any case, great video. Looking forward to more It Came From Craigslist vids.
Lol wow I just recently bought my triumph from the same dealer you saw listing the street triple. That bike wasn't there when I was looking so hopefully it found a good home
Yammie....Mustang seat on the Boss Hoss bike is a custom seat from Mustang. They build custom seats for most HD models and are much more comfortable than factory seats. Mustang is in competition with Corbin seats. Corbin wins in my book. Love the video. Thank you. MLLHR!
I just bought a nearly pristine 2002 Honda VTX 1800 with only 6k miles for $4k off the facebook marketplace. You can NOT underestimate what you can get in the grey market with a couple grand and some patience.
Previously being involved in vehicle trading (leasing, buying, selling, carloans - car, trucks, bikes), normally, if a stock part is removed and replaced with oem, it may risk the integrity of the vehicle and so the price decreases regardless of how much was the amount of performance parts put into it. Performance parts only sell well if sold privately amongst hobbyists, collectors, and like-minded individuals.
As for the custom turbo busa's, they should charge what it would cost from the factory unless you request it a certain way and someone does it for you.
3700 for 'was running when parked' beside the woodshed for 3 years? I used to visit these and try to talk sense into people, but realized they are all the same. Know nothing about machines- that's why it got parked.
Funny about that GSXR750 track bike, a dude on a local riding page on FB I'm on bought it and is going to be racing it in the WMRRA if I remember correctly in Washington.
Mustang seats are a brand of mostly custom cruiser seats that is located in Massachusetts, I know some people who have worked there. I got a 2001 Vulcan Nomad on the real cheap that has one of them. Super comfortable, like a good couch.
My father had a vfr 1200 from that era, it didn't have the dual clutch transmission , just a good old 1 down five up. Bike is fast in a straight line, easily pulling 100 mph in 3rd gear. it was heavy though and scary in high speed corners due to that. he sold it and bought his fz6r back off of me so I could graduate to an R6 ;).
I used to work at a chevy dealer and the owner did Boss Hoss on the side. They were chevy 350s and he would sometimes pull them for a zz502. They were like $50k
just bought a 2006 SV650 with 7k miles for $2500. i just gotta replace the back brake cause its having problems. but got it for a steal and very very happy with it.
So crazy! Yesterday, I was just thinking how much I missed the Craiglist videos. I thought of mentioning something, but I figured my comment wouldn't have been read. Well, I guess I didn't need to comment since you can read minds!
I'm near Portland. Still mourning the loss of the Sandy Blvd. Moto Guzzi/Aprilia dealer. Had a 90 Z1. Loved it but i'm not sure about the riding position on most of these at my age (68) but a Kawasaki Concourse or a Moto Guzzi Norge looks to be right in my wheel house.
Love all the vids Papa Yams but VFR1200F didn't just come in DCT. Also had six speed manual option. I wanted to buy one after test riding but price was steep. It was damn fast. And they look far better in person than pictures.
Mustang is a popular aftermarket seat company for HD owners, it is similar to a Corbin in both price and quality, some people prefer it's more plushy padding than that of the Corbin.
I had an 03 SV that got stolen, by the time the cops recovered it, it was trashed and I'd bought another bike. I let the insurance company keep it, I hope somebody got it cheap and gave it some love. Great ride.
Nah, no worries. I have easily started up a 3 year non-running bike (Yamaha FZ6) with the old gas in it. All it needed was a battery charge. I think it may be more difficult with carbureted bikes but this one was no problem at all.
