Having lived in drought for most of my life, my favourite part of this idea is the water saving. Well done!
Cheers, thank you 😊

Getting on this one now, i ran out of room for my indoor pants and I'm moving them to the walls! I also want to start a rosemary bonsai✌😁
Careful what plastics you use for this project. It's good in theory BUT a lot of plastic breaks down when exposed to tap water. A good test is to put water in it for a few days and then see if the water smells or tastes like plastic. If it does its leaching chemicals into your plants. As they grow they will absorb those chemicals and you end up ingesting a much higher amount of microplastic and chemicals overall. that's also why you should never reuse old chemical bottles or drums. We create a lot of things that are recyclable but not _reusable_ . Food cans also have a plastic lining in them and you should NEVER heat food in the can because of it. Reduce, reuse, recycle but don't harm your health in the process! Spread the word, if we work together we can fix this.
I'm thinking about doing a stacked tub (covered in fabric) system with holes drilled in the sides to stick cherry tomatoes and maybe peppers into and tying a few of these onto it depending on how I set it up, not sure what I'm going to plant in them but cycling some herbs was what I was thinking. Should I collect rain water in a seperate tub with maybe some blended kitchen scraps in it for extra nutrition? I live in Florida, so the rainfall is fairly constant most of the year.
What about plastic bottles that were sold with water already in them ?
@@LemonyFresh2000 check local laws before collecting rainwater. You can get a high fine in some states and cities. Our water table is already thrown off so they fine it in more problematic areas
@@MichaelDane-to2yn generally not recommended for reuse because as they age they get crinkled and that releases more plastics and chemicals. If you aren't beating them up they should be a pretty safe option. It's the physical wear that breaks it down so a planter will see less abuse then a water bottle being carried around. I'd say that and milk jugs would be your best bet!
Your channel is growing well and well worth it bro! The world admires your garden exposure, carry on these skills and keep bringing it!
This is awesome! I think we have everything we need to do this this weekend as a project with my four boys!
Sooooo good! Funny, informative, easy to follow, and green - what’s not to love?! Anvedi come recicla ‘Sandro!
Haha thanks a lot for the kind words! It’s great to have this kind of support, it means a lot 😊
Found you on Reddit, love your videos! I really like the water bottle idea- perfect for an apartment space :) thanks!
Thank you for joining my channel, it’s really easy and you can make it in many different ways following the original project :)
By far my biggest inspiration on my gardening journey. It's hard developing the discipline, but I am making progress everyday. Thank you so much.
That pretending to take a leak part was actually hilarious lol
Another great way to recicle bottles is to make bug traps with them. Just put a 1 to 1 ratio of water and vinegar till the bottle is half full, add a bit of sugar and put the trap on some tree. I use this method to get rid of fruitflies and wasps
Erasmo Giacomelli that’s a great idea! Thanks for sharing 😊
I really enjoy watching. I love the gardening videos as well as no waste concept. I saved my onion skins yesterday to make a condiment!
You should make a tour of your whole garden!
I love reusing and recycling. Great idea
Cheers mate, me too! I hope you start one soon 😊

Dude. The acrylic paint idea is great. Sun in my country is terrible and will tear through everything in a short while. Thanks for sharing. I´ll post a video once it´s done.
Thanks you very much!
Awesome mate, looking forward to watch your video and thanks for the feedback :)
That is generous of you.
Amazing idea, I'm definitely going to try this out at some point this year.
Totally love this idea.

I’m gonna do this soon, i’m gonna keep doing it, and when i have kids, i will teach them to do this.
Well done sir!
OMG Fantastic video thank you so much. Straight to the point brilliant
I don't drink many things aside from water, coffee, or tea, so I never have many bottles around. But, I asked my friend to save some of his to expand the kitchen window vertical garden like this. So far I only have one bottle, but my Russian Red Kale just started growing in it, thank you for the video, it was quite helpful! :)
I want a spicy mustache shirt!!!
Using a soldering iron to make holes in plastic is fast and easy.

Wonderful... I have a pergola and I can use this idea to build a wall on one side to give a greenhouse effect and protection for my plants inside thank you.🥰
This is such a good idea! i have so many spare pepsi max bottles lying around that i want to reuse! I'll definitely have to buy a trellis and give this a go! :D
Thank you so much! It’s really easy and a great way to maximise the production of food in your garden :)
Hi! From Venezuela. I loved it. thanks a lot.😁
That’s great! Will do the same!
This is really cool! What is the purpose of the paint?
Just wanna say great video, and I love the ink, I'm working my way down my arms, but currently preggers so have to wait to get my next one 😅
Going to be giving this a go this year, we have a South facing garden and I'm wanting to grow as much as possible for the kitchen
Très instructif, j'adore 👍
Great video really interesting, keep up the good work.
Great video Ale! I'm gonna start collecting bottles for our balcony!

Thank you very much and welcome to the channel! I highly encourage you to the same, it’s a lot of work but 100% worth it 😊
Beautiful idea .
Thank you so much, I’m glad you liked it :)
Beautiful!
Thank you mate 😊
Love your content. Love your artwork. Love you…in an excellent content creator way…no disrespect. 😊
To make the hole at the bottom I use a (leftover) piece of copper pipe, heat it on the stove and done. Works like a charm.
Cool..
Even though I use a metal water bottle I really enjoy this idea of recycling plastic. I think that when my coworkers use their large plastic bottles I'll ask to just take and use those bottles instead.
Hi, now April 6 I subscribed to your channel and I love the idea of recycling plastic bottles and I'm going to try to see how it works for me, I just love being able to understand a little what you explain since I don't speak much English and I would like to know if you can add the Spanish translation in the subtitles please, I'm binge-watching your videos, greetings from Maryland USA 🇺🇸 but I'm from El Salvador 🇸🇻
I LOVE this video was so cute W mans ty for the solid content! c:
🥂👍👍👍 genial ! Thanks!
Thank you very much :)
Hello you wonderful human!!!

Your nasturtiums are so amazing. What do YOU find to be the best fertilizer for them? Mine are producing wonderful flowers, but the leaves seem a bit pale.

Ok so...I have question..how long does the bottles last before sun damages & etc cause it to fall or warp weirdly? I live in Florida so it's super hot and super humid here especially in summer. Do you think this would last in my yard?
I always reuse plastic bottles and containers, but I make holes with a corkscrew or screwdriver that I heat on the gas flame ,it stinks but it's fast 😂😂🌱
Muito legal 👍
Thank you 😊
hi! found you on tiktok and i was so inspired to make one of these gardens myself. i have a question, i hope you can help me out. i live in a very sunny and dry place, so the water-saving component of this project has me thrilled. however, i wonder if i have my vertical garden in direct sunlight if the plastic bottle would work as a magnifying glass and scorch my plants?
Sick beats, yo. What's your Playlist on this episode? I want to add this music to my Playlist 😂
2:04 maaaan !
Great video! Quick question, can I off set the paining by recycling darker colored water bottles? I am already cringing at the few power tools i've seen during this tutorial thus far lol.
Will the plants outgrow this space? And if they do how do we get them out without damage ☺️
Hi Huge fan of your work
But what if I don’t have that criss cross wall to hang on this plastic bottles
Hey! That's an amazing video... Can I use the same method for tomatoes & peppers? Are those stapler pins strong enough to bear this much weight?
Thank you! I would use micro varieties to grow peppers and tomatoes so you don’t risk to break the vertical garden 😊
How did you do the cloning? With the blue wrap around the strawbs?
My man found the meaning of life
How does this hold up during the winter?
Is it really necessary to paint the bottle to protect the roots from sunlight? Because I have seen many on CZcams videos showing how they grow plants in clear plastic bottles without any paint or covering. Please clarify my doubts. Thank you.
Any concerns about the plastic leaching into the soil and plants over time?
How can you get large soda bottles?
Would it be wrong to ask your neighbors if they have any large bottles that they're going to throw away anyways??
Or Would it be wrong to ask stores?
Some grocery stories Do let you take their leftover cardboards, will the same apply for plastic bottles???
Much easier to use a soldering iron
3:44 anni fa non seguii il tuo consiglio e mi tagliai di brutto un dito con una lama incandescente xD
Luca Verlato haha vecchio sono qui che aspetto che succeda a qualcuno 😂

That accent is like 50% european country im not sure, maybe belguim or something and 50% Londoner lmao. Every now and then a pure london accent word squeezes through and catches me offgaurd
Too busy reading your skin to get the idea.
wouldnt strawberry plants need a much bigger container than a waterbottle? wouldnt they go rootbound and strangle its self? honestly asking cuz ive recently started researching
