most of the tour guides are from the government that will never try to scam you even they will protect you from scammers, and with tour guides they will show you, inform you and make you experience the true beauty of moroccan cities.
how you treated some of the people just trying to help you was very unfriendly! the majority of moroccans are friendly and hospitable people. don't feel afraid if you get that much kindness from the people

They are not used to humanity or I do'nt know... Also, not getting lost in the medina is impossible. You NEED a guide. So, go with official guides. Don't treat people like dogs please.

@@syakila4959 I don't know actually. In the video one of the guys had a badge. But just use your social skills. If the guy looks friendly and clean then you can trust him, just talk about money beforehand. In some medinas, even if you dont want help when you get lost you'll get help anyways to find your way out... xD

Sometimes the most beautiful authentic places in the world have stories about 'scammers'. Ask yourself why, how and by whom they are financed. It will open your eyes. They just don't want people to go there because most of the time those places are gems. It's another culture where people have their own kind of freedom and less worries.

stop seeing scammers everywhere mate ...just hire a trusted local guide and you will be hassle free and you will enjoy the medina a lot more...the more you see everyone as a potential scammer the more you are attracting the real scammers...some of these people are just nice people who want to practice their English with you and they may even guide you for free ....the Moroccan society is not like a western society, in the medina it is like a big family and everyone talks to everyone else and when they see a foreigner they want to help him out and may be know about him...next time get a real local guide cause by yourself you will never really enjoy and know it as you should...

They are not scammers. They are just looking for a daily living. But it remains a way in which he discredits the Moroccan street. You often find what you call scammers. Poor or drug addicted It's fine to ignore them, but don't call them scammers Enjoy the beauty of God's creation.. nature and the spontaneity of simple people
