  • This is a precious record of my visit with my father to see my grandfather (father's uncle) in Epoh (Malaysia) in 1987.
This is a short glimpse of the zinda-dil personality (sorry can't think of an english translation) that has given inspiration to my father and through him, the rest of our family.
This clip can be enjoyed at many different levels.
For family, this shows the love he spread - even at the age of more than 80yrs, he had the energy to make a hand crafted rolling pin for my mother as a souvenir to remember him by.
For the students of handicraft there are not many records of how carpentry was practised before machinery became available.
For those who have no interest in these aspects, the chacha - bhatija relationship is one to be marvelled at.
This is my humble tribute to our esteemed elders, to whom we are forever indebted.
