Bobby Kimball was needed for this Song, but Sadly his Voice is Gone now.
I'll take any song on Kingdom of Desire over Africa. Rosanna is great too and Hold the Line is a banger.

Been a fan since 1978, I am 60 now and wish music like this was being created by more artists. Absolutely fantastic live performance.
RIP Jeff Porcaro, 1954 -1992. What a great drummer. His body of work is prolific. Steve Lukather is a legend.
Drummers lost a master in 1992. I use Paiste cymbals partially because of Jeff.

steve lukather is just incredibly underrated in general. the man is an absolute fucking monster -- one of the all-time greats for sure. he's shreddy but it's not just the generic, "i run up the scale, then back down it" kind of shred trap most modern guitarists find themselves stuck in.

The timing and harmony of this band made my entire body covered in goosebumps.
Thats what TOTO means. Toto is a Latin word.
Lukather is a living treasure. An absolutely brilliant guitarist not to mention his arrangements and jazz compositions. He is quite frankly one of the most gifted and underrated people in the history of rock music and that's just part of his songbook.
Worked on many a Michael Jackson album, asked by Quincy Jones himself.

43 years of supporting TOTO! I'm 55 years old and seeing David Paich, Steve Lukather, Joseph Williams, Steve Pocaro, and Simon Phillips ROCKIN' in their 60s blows me away! MISSING JEFF & MIKE PORCARO! ROCK FORWARD TOTO!
I love Jeff, but Simon was a perfect fit.

How flawless and smooth can a drummer be.
In this concert, they sound SO good. All the instrument sound amazing, the singers, and of course they are extremely gifted musicians.
Seeing stuff like this makes me really happy.
In 1978 when Classic rock was still king in my world. Toto releases this self titled album which included Hold the Line. I loved this song 43 yrs ago and it still sounds great!

I have loved this song since I was an adolescent and it came out!
I looked up the meaning/what inspired the song, something about teenage love and trying to figure it out. But today it hit me (as good music does) with a personal meaning.
Like a battlefield, long-term married love faces enemies, personal doubts, and some painful losses at times. Great victory only comes to those in healthy relationships who Hold the Line and keep fighting for each other. Good stuff is ahead, don't give up.

Saw these guys live a few years ago. With Ringo Starr and his all star band. They did this, Africa and Rosanna. All the performances were great, but Toto was my favorite.
